We don't' have a carseat yet. We're deciding between Britax and Peg Perego. They both seem great but the Britax has the "anti-rebound bar", which seems like a good idea so we're leaning toward that one now. Britax also has a cool stroller that you can add a second carseat to. For the larger/convertible seat, I've got my eye on Recaro lol

Re: JDubya's build thread...09 WK Overland... meet Sparkles the Beast

We have the Chicco travel system for the infant seat and stroller and we just got the Britax Roundabout convertible car seat in october now that hes over a year and we love it.

We did the safety ratings when we bought ours and Chicco and Britax were the best for the infant car seat/travel system and the convertible car seats. The qualitya nd ease of use was by far superior on the Chicco with the seat base and car seat. Its locks in and out easily. The base is easily installed in the car with either latch or the belt and even with the seat in the rear middle it was still relatively for my 115 lb wife to get the 40 infant car seat and baby in and out. Deff go for a travel system, saves time and money.

Weve always had our son in the rear middle because its supposed to be safer and we did not want to have either front seat pushed so far forward our knees were in the dash.

Once you get to the larger car seats they want to enforce a new law saying children should be rear facing till 2yrs. So now they make the convertible car seats that can be flipped either way. With it rear facing in the WK it has to be in the middle or else a front seat will be incredible uncomfortable. Im 5'11" and im not about to put a steering wheel in my lap. lol

Also get a seat protector pad, the car seats WILL leave marks in the leather. The previous owner of my jeep never did that and there are 2 terrible marks in the rear seat. I got a nice seat protector from Babies R us or Baby Depot pretty cheap.
