Here is the before and after shots of my 2006 Grand 3.7 V6. I am the original owner and bought it with 6 miles on it.
AFTER TAIL LIGHTS BLACKED OUT AND BRUSH GUARD:
DASH BEFORE:
DASH AFTER: ( I know that it is a hack job )
ADDED SUN VISORS:
MAC MINI AND RADIO:
Now all of those photos were taken a year ago when I started up the project. Since then I have done more to clean it up and have redone the screen in the dash. I will have my wife take pictures soon and will update.
I had the mac as my video/mp3 player while the shark radio was for FM signal using the OEM antenna. It was good, but my wife wanted a less static signal so I bought the JVC El Kameleon KD-AVX4 as seen at:
So there is no actual need for the mac mini as much now that I bought that. I had them both installed and used the mac as my mp3 source when no good songs were on the radio or someone wanted to watch a movie. Instead the 7" screen is still in place with the radio below it using the video out mode. I can use a thumb drive or my iphone/ipod to use on the radio for trips and can still use three screens for video.
Come to think of it... I will be removing the radio this January in preparation for my move to Germany. Only one English radio station and trust me, the AFN is not always great on road trips.
I also am on the forums at mp3car.com b/c of my mac mini used for the radio and etc. I was going to use it for whole entertainment reasons, but I keep adding to and overdoing lots of things. I will post a few photos in a sec to show you the extra battery and such...
Forget about the Jet chip and save your money it is an absolute JOKE. Sonic Electronix has great audio and video prices and moparpartsamerica.com has Jeep accessories at reasonable prices.
Thank you for the site info and also about the Jet chip. I have not heard much from this community talk much about the chip being good or bad. Much appreciated.
Yes, both sun visors have a screen on them that show either A) backup camera or B) the DVD or video from my radio or mac mini.
So all in all I have 4 screens. 2 on the visors, 1 in the center, and 1 on the radio itself. Soon I will have 6 total meaning I will add 2 headrest screens for the people in the back.
