Jvenrick's Build Thread

So i figured that since my Jeep is turning into the WK that i want, its time to start a build thread.

THE SPECS: 2007 Grand Cherokee Rocky Mountain Edition. 4.7L V8. QTII Trans, Recovery Hooks Front and Rear, Embroidered Head Rests, 17in Ronin II Rims.

MODS TO DATE: 2in Rough Country Spacer Lift, 265/70-17 Cooper Discoverer AT3's, 1in Front Spacer, Mopar All Weather Mats.

FUTURE PLANS: Monroe Load Levelers (F-150), Rusty 1/4in Front Plate Spacers, Plasti-Dip Rims and Front Grill, AFE Intake, SuperChips Tune, Roof Top or Rear Mount Tent...and much more to come, these are just the mods that are hopefully comming soon!

As soon as i was ready for a new car i knew i wanted a WK. My first car was a 2 door 2002 Dodge Stratus R/T. Great little car, but living in Colorado i was really ready for a 4 door 4X4 to have some mountain fun with. I also already knew that the only color i wanted was the Metallic Green, so i waited until I found this great deal. Deal was so good i picked up the truck in a snow storm; So the Jeep has never really been completely clean outside, just the way a Jeep should be! ha, any ways on to the pics.

So of course i can not leave any car or truck alone, so i started to plan what route i wanted to go with my WK. Im a big Ski/Mountain Bike guy so i really wanted to build just a simple but very capable Overland Vehicle. One that could take me to places where i could really enjoy my passions. So first i researched lift kits, and ended up choosing the Rought Country Spacer Lift kit. It is a great Lift Kit for the Price and very well made. This Kit uses all metal spacers unlike other Spacer Kits that use Rubber that i have head can tear with extended use.

pics with the RC Lift and Stock tires, Unfortunetly i was to broke to get the lift and the tires are the same time.

I also Removed the Front Air Deflector which i think completely changed the Front End.

Well Thats what I have so far of the WK. So far i absolutly love it, and cant wait to build it up more. I just purchased new tires for Christmas but i need to get outside and take some pics, hopefully i can get some up today or tomorrow. But until then let me know what you all think, and take care and Wheel safe!!

Re: Jvenrick's Build Thread

Well I could not wait to show off my new tires. I was hoping today would be nice and i could clean her a bit, but no such luck. Oh well Jeeps always look their best with a little dirt. So i ended up going with 265/70-17 Cooper Discoverer AT3's, these are a newer tire for Coopers Discoverer line, but so far all the reviews have been quite good, and for the price i got i could not say no. I will def keep everyone updated on the wear and performance of these tires as i put more miles on them. I had to get 1in Spacers on the front but i did not have to do the Pinch Weld or trim the Bolt and have zero rubbing, its great!! Im not sure if i want to put spacers on the rear or leave it as is. I dont really think you can tell unless your looking for it, and it was cheaper on the wallet at the time. But i can always go but 2 more if i change my mind.

So far these tires are wonderful. Handel extremely well, and are no louder than the stock tires. so far they are exactly what i was looking for!!

Re: Jvenrick's Build Thread

Little update on the new coopers. Had the first mentionable snow since I got them and they did great today, absolutely no slipping on the drive in to work. Love this truck!!

Re: Jvenrick's Build Thread

I used the one inch spacers on the front to push the wheel out far enough so I would not have to trim the bolt or have any rubbing lock to lock with the 265/70's. Im gonna probably get two more for the rear when I go back in, I have started to notice the difference. Ha
