The 4.0 liter and auto transmission would probably have kept running forever but the body let it down. Too much road salt up here. Best vehicle I ever had.. And I wouldn't change that engine...just my opinion. That said, the WK is a lot nicer to drive though.
I have to though! I have a blown head gasket and i weaseled a sweet deal.. Since i wanted to go to school for automotive technology anyways.. The admissions rep happened to say something about as long as im enrolled in school, i can fix my jeep for free plus parts..
So i asked "what if i bring parts from a junkyard".. They said ok..
I found a gm straight 6, 6cyl complete engine with 100k LESS miles than on mine for $300...
Im planning on getting a person with AAA to hook me up with a tow..
*Think about it.. Blown head gasket could equal aprox 1k..
New/used engine, free tow, free labor (and im involved in the labor)... $300
