Re: Omelet's Build Thread!

So I took advantage of the GB that's going on and got myself a 42" LED light bar from Tough Light. Its a whopping 15000 lumens and will replace my four Hella 75s on the front of my rack.

I also went by my local 4WP and got a nice deal on a much needed set of Staun Tyre Deflators.

Now I just need to dial them in

I'm not sure yet. I will either sell them, use in a trade, or reuse them for another project.

They pretty simple. Once you dial them in, you screw them onto the valve stem and they automatically deflate to your preset pressure. No more crouching down manually deflating one tire at a time!

Re: Omelet's Build Thread!

Good get there Nathan, i wish i had some cash to grab one of those lights too!

Getting the stauns dialled in is the hard part. I originally had mine set at 16psi, and they set up really well, worked for 2 yrs. THen it has taken me 4 attempts to set them at 20psi! They do make airing down very easy though!

Re: Omelet's Build Thread!

Me and a couple guys at 4WP yesterday:

Him: What does ORT stand for?
Me: Off Road Technology!
Him: Oh, I have never heard of that before?
Me: It is a play off the SRT line.
Him: That's sweet I didn't know Jeep made that? What does the package include?
Me: Well they don't, I made it myself!
Him: Wait, so this isn't a new line from Jeep?
Me: No, it is an '05 with the Hemi, thus the "8", and the QD2 system.
Him: Wow! That is really clean and well done! It looks like it came from Jeep this way, but I wasn't sure because I saw the SkunkWorks stickers on it too. I thought it was maybe something they did that I never saw.
Me: Well that was the point. Make it look factory.
Him: Mission accomplished! Too bad they never made this, I would have bought one!

Hey JEEP are you paying attention yet?!

In all reality though, I am glad they didn't. Now I can be that much more unique!

Lol, I was at the Jeep dealership the other day and thoroughly confused a salesman. I came out of the service dept and he was looking at my badges like "huh??!?"

Re: Omelet's Build Thread!

So I have had this beautiful box sitting in my living room for the past couple of days waiting for me to get home. Well, today was the day! Let me introduce you to the new 42" LED bar form Tough Light:

Packaging was quite nice. It came snug in it's form fitted case.

A shot of the back side.

The end.

The only wires it comes with is the one coming out the back center, a well insulated sucker with 12GA + and - wires. No harness, but that's fine because I would have just cut it up and made my own anyways.

And here she is, all 80 LEDs ready to light up the night with 15,000 lumens!!!

This guy is solid and hefty, but appearance wise it doesn't quite hold up to Rigid's attention to detail. For instance, the clear and white caulking/sealer that was used was a bit sloppy.

And it is a little hard to see, but the clear lens is sunk slightly below the frame on top and flush on the bottom.

However, looks aren't everything and to me as long as this thing puts out as advertised, it is worth every penny! And in this case that would be less than half the price of the 40" bar from Rigid!!!

Here she is next to the Rigid 20"

And about where it will be resting by the end of this weekend!
