Nope, I didn't do one. I just have before and after pics. It is super easy, most of the cuts I made are curves and edges in the bumper. I started by taping off where I planned to make the cuts with painters tape. Then took a sharpie and drew the lines I was going to cut on the tape. Then I took a dremel with a plastic cut off wheel and made the cuts. After all the cuts were made and the corners were gone, I used a sander on the dremel and smoothed out the edges. The whole thing took maybe 10 minutes! If you'd like I can take some close up pics tomorrow?

OK here you go! Straight on from the front:

Straight on from the side:

And looking up under both sides:

You can see the washer fluid bottle, but I had previously painted it flat black so it blended in better. So it is visible and does hang down slightly, but your eyes are not drawn to it and it doesn't really stick out enough to clip a rock. When I painted it I left a strip from top to bottom unpainted so that I could still see the level.

You can cut the sides up higher like Jay did if you'd like. I only went up as high as I did because the ballast for my fogs are bolted right behind there.

I hope this has helped! Let me know if you need anymore help.

Re: Omelet's Build Thread!

What did you use to cut your bumper? Did you use tape to cover what you were cut?

Yep still at it I am actually starting to feel sorry for that Taco. The dude just finished it and then left on deployment!

I used a dremel with a plastic cut off wheel. And yes I covered the area before I cut it.

Re: Omelet's Build Thread!

Thanks so much for the write up on the mirrors. I've been wanting to add more color to my wk for a long time. I finally did it. I had an extra pass mirror that I practiced on and when I saw how easy it was to do I removed the covers while the mirrors were on the jeep. The pass side came out great, 3 nice coats but the can was getting low (leftover can of paint from another project) and I only managed 2 coats on the drivers side cover (painted one yesterday and one today) I will order another can of PJT Dark Khaki and re do the drivers side. Then ill lightly sand both covers and clear coat both then wet sand the orange peel. But that's for another day. For now they are at lease painted and look so much better already!
