Depends on the tire I suppose. Omelet is running a 295/70/17 on a stacked OME lift and hasn't had any issues there. Also when the rear compresses the axle shifts back into the wheel well. I would jack both the front and rear up as high as possible and fill the fluids. I've heard of a couple cases where peoples pinion bearings are getting smoked after SL install from oil starvation. My kit has the new lower control arms but sits in the same position axle wise as the drop brackets. Upper control arms would be key. Pretty sure you'll need to drop the fuel tank to access the drivers side frame mount bolt though.

I like your thinking! These are AWESOME tires!

With the SL and the 2" spacers my rear axle is 1/4" to the driver's side. I'd like to correct that, but I've got some things in line in front of an adjustable rear track bar. Right now I'm trying to chase down a mysterious noise in the front end that might end up costing quite a bit depending on what it is. I haven't gotten it figured out yet.

Re: "Oscar the grouch" build thread

This is all making me kinda NOT want a superlift!! Are there these many "issues" w everyone who has one?

I don't plan on doin this lift for a while especially since I have about 80k left on my warranty...

Regaurdless it looks SIC but I'm def not about fashion over function! I'm not as tech savvy as most of you and lack to tools for this stuff too so I am a lil sketched w the SL...but that's prolly cuz I don't know all the parts and shit that happens for the install. Hmmmmm

What noise do you have up front? Bearing related or clunking? Did you ever top off the front diff after install? It's angled down quite a bit after lift. I filled as much as I could via fill plug, then squeezed a bit more in through the vent .

I'd say form and function suit this lift plenty. Far more down travel then the OME stacked setup that I've noticed so far. Rides nice and smooth, but controlled. Gets your driveline angles back to stock or close to it. Even a 2" is putting more stress on your tie rods and rack right now then a SL setup. I took some angle measurements of mine and the gf tie rods a while ago and will post the pics if I find em. You should read through the instructions some time, its honestly pretty straightforward and well thought out except a couple instructions were kinda backwards. I'll email ya a copy to check out if ya get bored lol.

Coop, I don't think my issues is are related to the SL at all. I would recommend the SL over others I'vefor the ride quality and geometry. Get one already!
Tosh, I've got a clunking noise that is in harmony with my rpms that only occurs when I take the preload out of the driveshaft(foot off the gas) while moving. I've been looking into front diff/driver half axle, etc but haven't found it. I wont jack your thread with it, but I've got a thread in the wk section about it with pics and vids if you might be able to lend an ear. Thanks!

The bushings around the torque converter/tranny. Iv got the same thing and have for a while, its annoying but just a noise, costs alot to drop everything to replace.

Will do. Nothing to note so far except a slight loss of turning radius which is caused by the new knuckle stops. The jeep feels quite a bit heavier, but its nothing a good tuner. Can't take care of.
