Hmmm I don't think I got one in Jan either. I don't know how many banners one can have though.

Congrats, by the way!

So are you running 1" spacers front and rear now? I was thinking on running them up front after I test fit the 35s and adjust the steering stops. I don't like how far the tires stick our but I don't want too much rubbing either.

Re: "Oscar the grouch" build thread

1.25" all the way around. The fronts don't stick out to badly but the rears are out a bit much imo. I've been meaning to trim the bumpstops like we were talking about and putting the 1" spacers on I'm the rear, just been lazy lol.

Re: "Oscar the grouch" build thread

Oh ok! I have been running 1.25" up front and 1" in the rear, so that's why I feel my fronts stick out too far. I am really hoping to get away with trimming those massive stops. I want to reclaim some wheel travel!

And this is what I was thinking of for upgraded steering:

We need to get someone to make these at an affordable price!!!

Re: "Oscar the grouch" build thread

Nice! Yeah those are like the All pro ones I've been calling on. Trying to see what they offer already as far as thread pitch for the rack side and a ball stud for the knuckle.

Re: "Oscar the grouch" build thread

Ya what are they telling you? I don't really see a Yota company making Jeep parts However if they are interested in working with us, I thing they are in SoCal somewhere. I could drive up and let them get some hands on knowledge.

Re: "Oscar the grouch" build thread

I left a message with lead development guy. Still waiting to hear back. Was hoping we'd get lucky and the measurements would be the same or close.

Re: "Oscar the grouch" build thread

Finally got around to fixing the annoying steering wheel clicking that's generally caused by a bad cancel cam. In my case after examining both the old an new, they were identical. What happens is the cancel tab on the headlight dimmer stalk gets ridges on it and can also get gummy. I ended up putting the new cancel cam in and it still clicked. Took the dimmer stalk off and hit it with some Emory cloth and then some 300 grit sand paper to clean it up and added some dielectric grease to it. Works fantastically! No more clicks in the wheel and cancels when the signal is on just as it should. So if you have this clicking, I suggest looking into your dimmer stalk first. Plus you don't have to remove your steering wheel and airbag to do so. I also broke down and purchased the AEV EGR module. Hopefully it works with my tune and such.

Steering wheel off, just before I pulled the SCM/Clock spring.

The SCM/Clock spring. I used a small screwdriver to lock the clock spring as well as some painters tape. If its moved while off the column you risk destroying the clock spring.

Here's the back of the SCM and the cancel cam that sits in the unit.

Here's with the wheel back on and the column cover removed. Once you remove the two T-15 screws the stalk slides right out.

Here's the cancel tab I filed down on the stalk.

Just for grins, here's my helper.
