Finally introducing myself after months of lurking lol. Been a big advocate of Jeeps forever. After building multiple XJ's, a couple WJ's I finally stepped up and graduated to a WK. By far my favorite Jeep thus far. About a month ago I picked up a '05 Hemi WK, QDII Limited. Front struts were blown, EGR was bad, the only fluid that was routinely changed was the engine oil, some light body damage, bad ball joints, and brakes. All that being said for the price I really couldn't pass it up, knowing that it was going to be "upgraded" ASAP. After doing a tune up, changing the EGR valve, new PCV, cleaning the TB, changing tranny filters and fluid, and all the other fluids I got around to modding it some. First was the Volant CAI, then the Gibson CB. Just got around to doing the OME HD and changing out the ball joints(all 4, pain in the a$$). Just added the Flashpaq and am quite amazed with the difference in throttle response and shift points alone on the 87 tune. I'm waiting on some JBA UCA's(GF's XK is getting my stock UCA's w/fresh bj's since her bushings are squeeking to beat hell after a RC 2"). Also am going ahead w/the patent pending "Omelet lift" with spacers front and rear. Big thanks to Omelet btw for all the help via PM's, dude knows his stuff!
As for the name, the gf likes to name all the vehicles and when it came time to name this one she flat out said, " It's Oscar, cause it looks like it crawled out of a trash can!" Bahahaha! Couldn't argue with that. On to the pics!!

New 285/70/17 Duratracs, 1.25" spacers, and side skirts removed
Thanks! That was a swinging deal too. The only thing with that would be tracking down the brackets to mount it, unless Marlin @4xGuard would sell you just those.
The only reason I held off on sending him the money was those brackets, that guard is the older one and when I contacted 4xguard they were not sure if they could get me any
I'm fairly certain the current brackets would work with the older ones. Think the only thing different was the side of the old front guard were flared more and bigger. I believe they changed it because people were rubbing on the skid in tight turns.
Lazy weekend here. Got a chance to clean up the WK finally, taught the gf how to change plugs on her 4.7, as well as clean her TB. Also got to meet Kevin06 and check out his nice WK.
So you are planning on using all SL stuff up front and not using any of your existing parts? Since you already have the OME coils and struts, why not use them along with a 2" BB spacer up front for the lift. Of course you will still install all the SL brackets, but use the OME instead of the 4" SL spacer! This is what I plan to do once I eventually upgrade! That is if I don't put together my own Fox coilovers (money depending)
Thought about it but I already have the OME kit sold(helps with the SL price). I may in the future run the OME front coils with a coil cut out(lots of XK guys going this route). Still up in the air about keeping the control arms where they are pe getting some adjustables as i dont want their anchor drop arms in the rear.
I've got some plans for this lift... Might be a 6". I also really want the factory or close to factory angles and added down travel the SL will give me. One step at a time right now.
Are you saying cuts coil so it doesn't give you the height, just the higher spring rate? You should be getting one of the newer kits so you won't have to worry about the anchors.
Finally got my front oem replacement springs for when I do the SL. My stock front springs were hurting after the P.O. drove the jeep for a year plus with blown struts. I had to do some digging and apparently the drivers side is different than the passenger side. It sits about .25" taller. Now just waiting on the Damn parts to be powdercoated for the rest of my SL!!
Usually they adjust for that with the rear springs. Any aftermarket springs you gotta watch for. Monroe, crown, and Moog list the same part number for both sides. That's why I went oem.
My new CAI on average runs, at idle, about 9 degrees cooler then the factory one. Once your driving they are just about the same, staying within 5 degrees of the ambient air temp. I can monitor the temp with my Aeroforce gauges
