Yay! Stopped by the shop and it will be done late this afternoon. Boy oh boy those headers are IN there! I now see why they had to drop the subframe. Holy cow that's a tight fit. FYI they went with 3" pipes. Wish I would have thought about that before but it shouldn't really be a big deal.

Wicked! My new Hertz Hi-Energy midrange speakers came in today. I don't think I've ever seen surrounds as big as these on a midrange door woofer in all my years of car audio.

These were sold to me by Soundman Car Audio out of Santa Clarita in CA.

I got it back! There is a HUGE low end difference in power. If you dont softly depress the pedal it will launch from a stop. In the top end there isn't a noticeable difference than stock but I'm sure this has a lot to do with the factory exhaust.

It sounds just about the same as stock until you step on it. The Airaid wakes it up a good bit. I'm slightly worried about droning once I get a new exhaust on it though. I may not go with the Gibson since its going to be hacked up anyway

I haven't messed with the programmer yet as its nasty outside.

Only a few gripes I have is there is a little rubbing somewhere at certain RPM's but I haven't figured out what RPM it does it at since I've only driven it like 5 miles. The other gripe is I need an alignment but that isn't a big deal.

I'm not wild about the welds as they aren't pretty but honestly I don't really care.

The new front rotors I can't really judge yet as the pads need to either be replaced or wear in better. At the end of the day they are just OEM rotors that were treated and slotted. It hasn't been driven in almost a month which could explain why the brakes aren't great. I'll install the rear rotors at a later date though.

The fabricator took a video of it without an exhaust at one point and I'll post it as soon as he emails it to me. Apparently when he did it time stopped at the shop and everybody including the ladies that work inside went to go check it out asking "WHAT was that!?" hahaha.

This is a really nice scan tool! Made by Snap On and is wireless from the car, take pictures to order parts or send to somebody and tells you every thing!

Oh, I was joking to one of the mechs that the shop probably lost money on this and he said " you'd probably be right ". Lol.

Everything is stock behind the cats. I'll be changing that soon. The rental car killed my exhaust budget so I'll need to replenish that again.

Re: Remmy's Build

That is great news that you feel the better throttle response. Before I pulled mine apart, I was a little disappointed in that part of it as didn't feel much different to my XJ with 4.56 gears and 32's!

Re: Remmy's Build

So after all that and the subframe lowered to install the headers, it needs an alignment. I take it to a very trusted shop and they discover the upper bushing on the diff is gone. Eff me. Explains why the truck shifted hard when going from park to reverse. The mech showed me while it was on the lift with a guy in the Jeep. Its kind of unnerving how mush all of it moves because of bad bushings.

Oh, and a bolt already snapped from the headers connecting to the exhaust.

Re: Remmy's Build

Video of the headers sound before they bolted the factory exhaust to them. Sorry, mechanic has a terrible camera.

Its a BEAST.

Its developed and exhaust leak and rubbing under the drivers seat so Ill get it sorted out Monday when they go to replace the upper diff bushings and get an alignment.
