Finally an update! Installed my winch this weekend.

image-2793563823.jpg

Then picked up some Sherwin Williams ATX paint and clear and painted a donor grille to match

image-385864163.jpg

I had also ordered a Boulder Grille insert from Aspen Creek Offroad (formerly Saguaro) and installed with the painted grille.

I still need a set of OEM style projectors and a possible lower front bumper cutoff to finish the front end.
My lift still isn't installed because I can't find anyone to cut and weld the crossmember. I've been trying to find a plasma cutter to do it myself but I'm having no luck with that either!

Re: The BETA build

Nice stealth winch install there.
What lift requires you to cut a weld the cross member? Never heard of that needing to be done. What exactly is the reason for it?

I have the Superlift, which has brackets that lower the front differential in order to maintain correct geometry. As a result, the front driveshaft comes in contact with the crossmember. Superlift provides a plate that you weld in once you notch the crossmember for driveshaft clearance.

This is the plate welded in:

It's not a hard task, it's just a matter of having the right tools and knowing how to use them.

That is not the Aspen Creek/Saguaro winch bracket, correct? Did you make that yourself?

Correct, it's homemade. Forum member Omelet designed it and built the first one, I just took his measurements and built this one. Cost about $50 to make. I got the steel from a local metal shop's drop pile. Best cheap mod I've got!!

Re: The BETA build

Looks great Jay! Glad to see you are finally getting started on the new one. What do you have planned for the fogs? Some flush mount Rigid's or something?

Last night I installed projector housings. I gutted the wiring and used denzo slim ballasts and OSRAM D2s CBI bulbs. Adapting D2S bulbs to D1S housings is easy, you just have to fab a small bracket to hold the bulb base in.

Thanks Nathan!! I'm going to scrap the lower half of the bumper including the OEM fogs. Ill either do flush mounts or ill do a pair of D2s on each side (aligned similar to the setup in a Ford Raptor).
