The only thing shot while hunting...

YAY the jeep!

My parents neighbor has a Nikon D5000 and while I am no camera buff it is by a LONG shot nicer than anything I have used. The winchester model 94ae goes another year with no blood shead but this camera KILLED it! lol

In the following picture I wanted to show the clearance I have from the wheel to the caliper, I had to buzz this bracket down a bit to run the moabs without wheel spacers.

No hills went unconquered! And not that you can see her hiding in her dads camo, but my wife was modeling the latest fall fashion!

"and pose, good, good, work it"! *no thrusting motions were performed during the capture of these photos*

Got home tonight, parked the loaded tent trailer in the garage to be unloaded tomorrow and pulled out the wash mit and pressure washer... the red dirt was ALL over the interior and door jambs along with the obvious exterior.

The bump in the trunk.

Re: The only thing shot while hunting...

Thank you, and I dont know what your talking about there was surely no thrusting

BTW, the father in laws 3.slow 4 runner was getting a trans temp warning comin up the freeway near our easterly destination (still had to go south followed by a woods stint accounting for about 30 more miles that it was coming and going). So on the way back we stuffed my tent trailer inside and loaded a bunch of stuff on top to lighten the load on his trailer, and I STILL drove circles around the 4 runner. The jeep did good, especially considering its got 180k on the odo and she keeps on tickin!

I guess the only frusteration was the 13.5 mpg out there and about 10mpg on the way home... I guess the 5hr drive with no dead deer had me wanting to get home

Re: The only thing shot while hunting...

There are deer out there in the woods wondering why you were wasting your time taking pictures when you could be thrusting.
Silly humans.

Re: The only thing shot while hunting...

Thanks guys!

ha ha... last year up here we were chasing deer all over the hills. We only got one spike last year in the party but none the less its much more fun to actually have animals in your sights regularly... this year there was litterally 4 doe that each person saw individually on separate days, that was it. Opening day I think I heard about 9 shots and like 5 of them was one guy I was told was firing at a "moving buck running with 3 doe" (miss x5), and the other 4 shots were probably from the same 1 or 2 trigger happy hunters. Combine with the fact that we were each hiking abour 7-10 miles a day in quite hilly terrain by the last day we were done with the morning and afternoon nature hikes. There was nothing.

We will see the posted hunt results and if the success rate was scraping rock bottom we will probably relcate next year, oregon department of fish and wildlife has done an amazing job of killing off all the deer up there.

BTW, the picture with the trees blocking the jeep, its not visible in the picture but its actually a MASSIVE valley, very steep, VERY deep... We hunt a couple miles from here, great view that the camera just didnt capture.

Nice Jeep, not a fan of the sub in the trunk, just seems unproportional

Unproportional as in too big or too small? because its just a 10 and a rather small enclosure too... I can still open my cover back there without moving anything. Plus it adds maybe not quite enough but for the lack of sound deadening and other audiophile gear almost perfect amount of bass without rattling the doors off.

Not to mention my german shepherd is a regular passanger and its small enough I can move it out of the way to the side and viola.

Plus the price I paid for it, it was worth EVERY penny... a coworker who was going to trade his car in gave it to me because his mercedes he was buying didnt need it . It was a downgrade from the 12 I had but a much better fit to the hatch.
