Re: Washed and Few Small Mods! 6/2/11

That looks great Dave! My fuse cover is wrapped in CF vinyl but I've never been totally happy with it, so looks like paint is the way to go

I was wondering how the calumets would look and I agree it could be just too much, but painting the logo sounds perfect!

Re: Washed and Few Small Mods! 6/2/11

The green accents look tight (as does the rest of the Jeep of course, nice detail job), really jumps out from the black.

I was gonna repaint mine gloss black but I think ill try a more outrageous color now.

Put green on the calipers. I love a black and green combo.

Looks awesome!

Black and green will look sleek. A member here did that on his SRT.

1.Remove Steppad.
2.Degrease it ( i used Dawn) and air dry
3.Layer of Adhesion Promoter ( Bulldog) wait 5-10 min and apply 2nd coat.
4.Sandable Primer, Sand , S.Primer(repeat until it is smooth, for the sanding i work up to 1000, 180/400/600/1000.)
5.rinse off and let it dry.
6.apply basecoat, (light on your first layer and work your way up, i think i used 4-5 coats)
7.apply clearcoat ( 2-3 coats)

Re: Washed and Few Small Mods! 6/2/11

finally got a chance to redo my calipers. It was chipping bad so instead of repainting over the old paint i decided to strip everything off(combo of hosing it down, sanding, wire brush and scraping). Another PITA job. i first sprayed the Jeep logo green. after a few coats and it was dry , used a THIN brush and paint the spaces between each letter black(FTMFL if no steady hand) Then the rest of the caliper in black.
