Re: Whoa's build thread

Got some toys for fathers day! presents that are also mods WIN-WIN!

The i-simple ,really is.just plug it in between the radio and the harness,it has 2 small harnesses and they connect to each other as well. there is one small plug thats not used,so i taped it off

there is a small 12v output that i also didnt use-taped it off also

I also am not using the rca's,so.....

I used velcro to hold the main module out of the way

and a small piece for the 12v+ fuse

in order to keep the rca's from making noise/rattling,i taped them to the ipod cord with foam insulation tape

i put the main module above the radio- it's out of the way and so light its not goin anywhere

then i put the little fuse against the back wall above where the radio will be

I ran the cable behind the glovebox, under the console up next to the seat until i decide on a more permenant spot.I looped the extra out of the way behind the box

Re: Whoa's build thread

Well, i cant find the stainless bracket i want, so I used what i could get. I didnt want to chance it since I'm driving to MI tomorrow then on to NJ. This way its sure to be supported. I got a piece of hose to use as a sleeve and cut it in such a way it wont slip apart

then i put the support clamp around it and screwed it into a small hole i drilled in a fan support

Its not shiney, like i wanted, but still looks pretty good IMO

Re: Whoa's build thread

these tires are really low-pro so my wk eibachs were leavin to much gap

so I pulled the fronts

and cut a coil off each stock front spring-1/2 @ a time as to not go too far

blacked out the knuckles while I was at it

Much better

Thanks!

DISCLAIMER : I only cut the fronts, the rears you cant because the top/bottom coils are tighter for mounting purposes.

I used a circular saw with a metal cutting blade. I have cut the front springs on my xj/mj's before with good luck - i know some people frown apon it, but i just had to i even got some rake back

I've been lookin for a stocker to do a side-by-side with, but no luck yet. It only measured 1/2" drop from the wk eibachs, but sure seems like more.

Re: Whoa's build thread

Had some rattling noises that seemed to be in the exhaust system. I noticed some noise when i hit the heat shield over the muffler,so i pulled the muffler and shield down and got this out:

doesnt look like much in the pic but it doesnt rattle as much
I also put some undercoating on to help with sound- no pics didnt want to chance getting that mess on my phone.

Re: Whoa's build thread

Just updated my TB ground mod. when i heard about it i was on a trip, so i did it with what i had in my toolbox: 12ga wire(orange). it worked, but wasn't very much of a difference.
Stage 1

Stage II -now it has 8ga

I was carefull to not pull the batt cable loose, so no reset was done. This thing runs so much nicer!! idle seems to have smoothed out and it is even more responsive
