Re: WildVisionsWK - Build Thread

The build is looking great so far! If the first couple of photos/processing were done on your phone I can't wait to see what you do with your DSLR.

Re: WildVisionsWK - Build Thread

Thanks! The only photo that wasn't shot on my phone is the one at the Los Angeles River (B&W), which was with my Canon 5D Mark II. Here are a few more dSLR shots, all of which are from back when everything was stock.

My favorite, a rig/rolling shot. I plan on doing more of these once my wheels are plasti-dipped.

Re: WildVisionsWK - Build Thread

So today I finally found the time to finish up my tail lights. They were lightly spray tinted + clear coated and had major orange peel which was bugging the heck out of me. I am debating going slightly darker on my tint when I buy some nice LED tails, but I will avoid the 'all black' look since while it's nice, I have no doubt that LAPD will ride me like no tomorrow for it. :P For some reason my tails look lighter/brighter in these phone photos than they are in real life.

Orange peel! Yuck!

Getting messy while wet sanding. I didn't feel like taking them off the car, so I just carefully worked on them while mounted. No scuffs in my paint, whew!

After all the wet sanding was done and the mess was cleaned up. Awaiting polish.

All done! Much better now.

And just two photos from a morning drive through the canyons a few days ago.

Hopefully if nothing comes up I can finally get around to plasti-dipping my wheels and painting my calipers tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Re: WildVisionsWK - Build Thread

Thanks! Hopefully once I get more mods going I can put together a proper photo shoot rather than quick iPhone photos. :P

I currently just pulled the trigger on some yellow lens halo + projector fogs, a 3K HID kit for them, and a new multifunction switch w/fogs so now I shall anxiously await the UPS/FedEx delivery man, and will probably tackle him before he even gets past the front gate. It should be fun to figure out, as I've never one any sort of electrical/lighting installation before.

I plan on doing my own headlight retrofit and outlining the existing 'WK rings' instead, since I like that look more. I'm not too crazy about the existing halo lights available, and I'd much rather have the customization freedom of doing a retrofit

Re: WildVisionsWK - Build Thread

I quickly plasti-dipped my grille today. Its temporary, as I plan on removing the vertical trim pieces and customizing the grille later on and will be sanding down and painting everything then (still matte black though.) I also need to buy some new push pins because instead of having identical ones, this poor grille is held on by 'whatever was laying around', so it's a mis-match of pins, one of which was in such terrible condition that it partially broke upon removal (oops)

Grille removed

Original color, Beryl Green

Plasti-dippin' it. Also put my jackstands to good use as weights to hold down the plastic.

All done!

Going to visit a friend today and see if he can help me get my lug nuts off after I didn't have much luck myself with my cordless impact wrench or my tire iron. Apparently I have enough 'girl power' to crack/split a socket in my auto shop class, but not enough to get stubborn nuts off. *slinks away shamefully*

Have you thought about what projectors you want to do for your future retrofit?
