Neither of those will be DIY mods though, I will leave those to the pros. That's probably why they won't happen for quite a while, both will be very expensive when labor has to be paid for in addition to materials. :P I figure though, if I will be enjoying my WK for the next 3 years until it's paid in full, might as well REALLY enjoy it!

Thanks! I wanted to make them stand out, but at the same time be different. That, and red calipers on a green WK would give it a Christmas tree effect, lol.

Yeah, I didn't assume you would do that custom fabrication work but it's pretty ambitious for something that didn't come stock. Most would just settle for the fact it didn't come with their model

Re: WildVisionsWK - Build Thread

A few more photos from today. I went down to the beach and watched the sunset. Once I get my HID fogs installed this week I will wash my WK and do a proper shoot with my dSLR!

Ew, water spots!

Lots of miles! It was up to 149,245 when I finally got home for the night. It barely hit 149k two days ago (Sunday). I drive a lot.

Re: WildVisionsWK - Build Thread

A few more photos!

Yesterday the UPS man dropped this off:

Installing the fogs has been quite the pain in the ass. First, the screws that held in the halogen H3 bulbs were so shitty that they stripped with hand tools! I paid a visit to JeepCoop since he's local and he tried to extract it with power tools..nope. Finally it got ripped out with pliers.

I got the fogs mounted just fine after that.

When I went to handle the electrical side of things, I realized the dealers bolted the battery connection backwards, so there is no way to get my 10mm socket on it. I have wrenches...but just my luck they are SAE, so one size is too small, the next is too large. Ugh. I had to halt work, but will buy a 10mm wrench tomorrow to rectify this.

FAIL!

I still have to wire my HIDs, install the relay/fuse, and the multifunction switch. The HID kit came with no real instructions so it took forever to figure it out and I'm still not 100% sure if it's right. I guess we'll see when I go to the dealer to get it switched on.

Good luck with everything. What made you go with that Noito SE? I haven't heard too much about them.

You can if it's your first time and no instructions are included along with no prior knowledge of how to wire it.

There is no wiring and the plugs will only go into the correct spots

Wiring in a sense of plugging all the proper connections and bolting it to the battery terminal. I think for anyone first setting it up, just the amount of wires can be a bit daunting

Pretty much! Especially since the kit shipped with extra wires that aren't necessarily needed for this installation. It took forever to figure out where everything goes, because there's no instructions to say "This plugs into that, these ends go here, and that goes there"

There's no electrical splicing or anything needed, but when everything comes unlabeled and there's a ton of wires, many of which could fit together, it left me scratching my head for a while, trying to figure out what goes where. Then I sort of figured it out by consulting the knowledge base that is the internet and JeepCoop.

You should have seen the carnage that resulted when pliers were finally involved. Needless to say that original halogen bulb isn't gonna be useful anytime soon. I kinda went with the "If it doesn't belong, tear it out!" method and left no survivors.
