Hey guys, I'm Dustin from Louisville Kentucky. I have owned my WK for about 2 years now, but just now getting up to making a build thread. I'll start from the beggining.
2005 Grand Cherokee Limited with 5.7 Hemi, i bought it with about 56k miles on it about 2 years ago. Color is Deep Beryl Green, Limited package, fully loaded except a few options. I bought my Jeep privately from a couple about 100m miles away up in Indiana for $14,700. At the time that was the cheapest GC i could find with the Hemi and felt like it was a great deal. Here is a picture when I first got it, BONE STOCK!
It didnt take long before I started doing little cheap DIY projects to my Jeep to make it my own style, with my newly added Jeep payment and house payment the funds were limited. First couple things I did was install a iCar iPod hookup kit to my factory stereo, one of my favorite mods. Soon after I bought a Euro style shorty antenna to get rid of that factory antenna. I ended up plasti dipping my stock Ronin II's and loved the look of my jeep with something so simple and easy to do.
I came into luck a couple months later, a buddy of mine got the death wobble on his WJ so he stripped it all down and parted his aftermarket parts out and I was the lucky person get his wheels and tires, I got some Black Rock soft 8's with Maxxis Bighorn M/T's, tires and wheels only had a couple thousand miles on them. I lucked out and bought them for only $400 for the set.
Soon after I plasti dipped my grill black, and took off the lower lip from the front bumper.
Recently I bought a RC 2" BB lift and some rear Billstein HD shocks. Instead of buying an antenna mount i decided to make my own because im to impatient to wait for one to ship and I was gonna take my jeep off road for the first time that weekend, turned out great!
Here is my WK with the 2" BB and Billsteins
Recently I finally took my WK to a place called Interlake Park and did some off-roading with some lifted Wranglers and I had literally had these guys drooling and dropping there jaws all day, they could not believe the stuff I was going through, up and down, and around. Here are a handful of pictures from that weekend, enjoy!
