They are finally getting done! Just like the title says.

They are $110 each before shipping and they will have SRT laser etched on the top.
If you choose no laser etching it's $100 per tip.
I'll have the first prototype in hand on Friday, 05/06.
He have about 40 folks interested, but I wanted to put the info up here as well.

Here is the photo. I know its no Hi-Def photo or anything, but you get the point.

Pm me if your interested, so we can keep you in the loop for any interested buyers.

Rob,
I figured I would put it up in Intake and exhaust since I wasn't actually doing the whole group buy, but posting the info. But please feel free to move as you feel fit.
Scott,
These will fit stock pipes. The inlet is actually 3", so it will fit most everyone's systems. Stock on the SRT8 is 2.75", so it's an easy weld for any respectable exhaust guy.
The overall length is 9", but there's at least an inch to cut off on the small side, leaving plenty of meat to weld to.
These will most resemble the stock tips, but just a 5" outlet to fill the hole better.

After thinking more about the Etching, I don't think it would look that good with dual SRT etchings on the tips. "6.1" on one and "HEMI" on the other might be a good one.

I'll put you on the interested list. Once we get the prototype, I'll make any fine tune adjustments, and then we'll get a set installed so we can actually see what it looks like on the Jeep prior to anyone having to jump on board.
Keep ya posted!!!
Quick One!

No worries Man.
The SRT has resonaters right behind our tips. You would have to remove the resonators to put those 12" long tips, which would require a lot more work than what these will.
So that half price is quickly lost in the other piping you'd have to buy and weld on.

Or you could just put all 12" on and have them stick out 6" from your bumper!

But then your into a 5" section of the pipe? So your going to mod that down from a 5" to a 2.75? Come on bud. If you're doing that much fab to a double wall tip and you can make it look good, then more props to you. For everyone else...This is perfect.

Ooops! guess yesterday night was a little drunk, and being an a$$! hahaha :) .. will delete all my postings in this thread after a while...

Hey Quickone! my apologies bro! Good luck with the tips !! I didnt even notice you're selling those.

Hamze....No biggie...Like I said...No worries Bro!
I'm just doing a group buy. I just really like the 5" tip over the stock 4". Since no one makes a slant cut, which follows the rear bumper lines, I really wanted it. So, I'm glad it's finally getting done, and apparently, so are about 30 other people, which makes it that much better! :)

As I said on the red site, I am glad these tips are finally being made. I'm surprised more people have not jumped on board but I'm guessing once a set of tips are installed on a jeep and people see what the end product will look like then a lot more will jump on board.

i have a set of thse tips from Thermal R&D 5" But only 8" long waiting to be installed on my jeep. i have a WK hemi so im not sure how im going to run my exhaust with my conversion, since i need a hitch, but it would look so much better with out the hitch and the tips out the middle. Good luck with the sale.

Rufdod...
Thermal Research tips aren't slant cut. They are straight cut like the Borla rolled tips.

I just really want to get these suckers put on as well. I know it's a lot of talk over tips, but the 4" tips, just don't fill the cutout hole in the rear bumper.
Thanks for the interest.

That's the plan. You'll probably need to cut a little off the smal end, butthey should fit just fine with the stock resonators.

#18 ·
Rufdog...I see those, but it's a 4" inlet. So you'll have to add a piece of piping from 4" down to 2.75 (or 3" depending on what you have) and your already at 8" to start. In essence, the same tip though.

Really looking forward to seeing the proto's on your rig! Working on getting my ten here guys, bear with me!

#20 ·
Hey Chad,
Just so you know the scoop...The prototype is only one tip so I can see it before we go produce a bunch of these. I will be getting it this Friday. I'll take in depth photos to post. After that, I will base the order of a pair so we can see how they fit, or if we should just produce them all so everyone can have them. Probably will put a pair on, then start orders.

reading all the feedback at the red site, probably better to see pics on the rig. I was trying to make my ten posts earlier so I could enjoy some more member benefits and I came across this thread. That was ten!

Good one Joe. :D

Scott,
We do have a powdercoater here that might be able to do them, but for now, we're just doing the Polished. Only options are Laser Etching or no Laser Etching.
Oh...And did I mention they are guaranteed for life?
I'm sure with the work you have done, you have someone you know that can powdercoat, no? LOL!!!

#27 ·
Scott,
Once we actually start the group buy, we can figure out powdercoating. I think Dan in IL is going to do his, so I might just send him any that need to be powdercoated. We also have a guy locally in MA, but I havn't looked into it just yet.
Will keep you posted!

Here is a photo of the tip prototype.
Looks like stock, but 5". What do you think?

Easily 2" available to cut off

Overall is exactly 9"

Inlet = 3"

Outside dimension:

We will be putting a faint line at bottom dead center to ease with alignment.
The tips are warrantied for life on any welds or rust. Discoloration and damage are not included
