Considering a 2014 SRT Jeep. Decent aftermarket shop in NYC

Hello forum! Been lurking here a short while but figured now that I have test driven a jeep today, I'd post my thoughts. Granted this test ride was only 15 minutes without any highway driving.

I test drove a 2014 black srt jeep with 18700 miles on it. This jeep did not have the options I wanted so I knew there would be no deal but I wanted to see if the ride was compliment considering this will be my DD in NYC.

Ride:in comfort(auto) mode the ride was not bad at all. Sport was also very good it actually felt the same as comfort or auto. Track mode it did seem a bit stiffer but maybe that's a placebo affect? I definitely felt like gear shifts were faster in track.

This jeep had the all season tires on them and with 18700 miles they felt like they had decent rubber on them still. I compared thread depth against a new 2015 with the same tires and they were semi close in depth. The brakes were pretty outstanding. Seems like they engage high up in the pedal range. I didn't do launch control but did a few roll out runs and could only get to the top of 3rd. The tranny shifts so fast and frequent. Was pretty bad ass.

As far as performance goes. I had a 2005 6spd gto that I ran 12.9's at around 109mph back in the day. This was at atco in negative da obviously . I'd like or hope this jeep will et a similar number. If not I was hoping I could add some light mods that could get me in the high 12's at 106-108 mph range without voiding the warrantee. I was hoping a competent shop was located fairly close to me(queens ny) and could help me out down the road. Hell who knows I may want more .

Anyway. I thought the truck was bad ass. Felt very light and peppy especially 5-45 mph sprints where I like to use the power when not at the track. I intend to do more research as far as mods go but figured I'd say hello and throw out my plan.

2014, 12000 miles or less, 55k range , Silver or white with spider wheels, pano roof, HK are what I hope to land in my hopefully new to me jeep.

On a side note I was approved for a loan on 72 months at 2.59% as long as purchased from a dealer. I thought that was a decent deal but if anyone has better leads I'm all ears . Jim

welcome! IMO a 2014 for $55k will be hard to find....but maybe not as 2015 rolls in.

I've seen a few in my area around that price, but they usually have pretty high miles. Seen them as high as 35k miles surprisingly.

Autotrader is a good resource for searching, seems like most dealerships are listing their entire inventory on there.
