Re: So i dont like my new VOLANT POS CAI!

yeah so ill give this another go next week (i left it up at the rents house)

got off the phone with volant and apparently the peanut shaped entry for grille duct air supply is suppose to have gaps where it connects-and it not suppose to click despite the tabs supplied with it... they said it would NEVER be a flush fit nor exact fit due to the odd peanut shape entry. go figure! put that in your BS instruction guides why dont you.... haha

other than that, i didnt have a problem tweaking things around. i wont leave the gaps like that il use something makeshift to close the gaps up somehow- other than that im just going to have to buy a new line for my reservoir coolant cause after installing the housing box my reservoir line was way too short to reattach.

gl to anyone who reads this though- if ya run into that gap, apparently its ok to just wing it.

Re: So i dont like my new VOLANT POS CAI!

just putting this pic up of the "peanut shaped" air duct i was referring to in this thread.

talking gaps everywhere with the stock SRT duct when connected. its like only 40% of the stock duct that even touches the peanut shaped entry....

just waiting on the rain to stop to go and install it somewhere.

cheers-

Same shape as mine. As an update, I pulled mine apart last weekend to wrap the delivery tube with reflective insulation tape. When I put it back together I felt around the stock snorkel and didn't feel any gaps. Couldn't see any from the front either. I know they were there when I initially installed it as I Neanderthal'd it in there without removing the grill. I also put the clamp for the filter in the box, so there's no gap there either. Seems I did a better job this time, or they adapted to themselves...

wink
