Warranty is $600 on the SHR website. The real question is, how many SHR trans have you heard about needing to be replaced compared to the amount of Paramount trans needing to be replaced?
To answer you first question... Our failure rate is non existent and his is, well..., very existent.
We have an optional warranty. It will cost $600. This is a limited warranty based on RWHP levels. 0-750 is covered for 12 months or 12 thousand miles. 751-1000 is covered for 6 months or 6 thousand miles. 1001 and up has no warranty.

Just curious now, Ive always wondered how warranting performance parts works especially dealing with power ratings and all. When you guys say 12 months for up to 750hp+ is that because youve tested it and pushing that kind of power to it will see to its demise over a year or a little more? And then 1000hp+ is 6 month warranty, so would someone who daily drives it and track it maybe one/twice a month expect to have it rebuilt after 6 months? Just curious how you decided on warranties and what the typical lifetime is on these things, thats all. I see no fail rate yet, so no one has had an issue since youve began selling these? Have any dynos from guys running these along w/ time periods? Just trying to do research as a tranny will be down the line when the motor gets swapped. Thanks for any input you can provide
I'm holding off. AJ/Westbruy Jeep decided that a tranny flush is the first thing I should try, so I let him do that (for $240). If that fails, he sells his version of a built tranny for $3699.
He used to push Bill's pretty hard as a preference, direct competition should make for an interesting dynamic. Word's out now on who does what and what product does what. Has been for a while and the latest "developments" that no one dare talk about are the finishing touches. All that astroturf on Lxforums and the red site is so sad its funny. Good to see more options for the hemi community. Let us know if the flush helps improve your function.
Before AJ became the "Hemituner" he worked on every Tranny in the fleet. His
coworker Bill was right along side him. If AJ says it will work, it will work and he stands behind his work jsut as much as any vendor. I witnessed AJ rebuild a tranny with some "parts" before and the results were very good. I thank my stars I have him on my cell!!

Nah, he flushed it. Said something about running 20 quarts of fluid through the machine and tranny, though he only charged me for 7 quarts. Changed the filter too.
The issue was rough engagement when cold and not engaging so good on the highway. It feels exactly the same right now. I'll give it a few days and see if anything changes. I gotta go back next week for ordered parts anyway.
The reason I asked is because I have never seen a flush fix anything. Just my opinion. I have been building these (722.6/NAG1) transmissions since 1997. I would say that you have excessive clutch clearance and/or a seal leak.
How much power are you making?
Well, it doesn't seem to have worked. Tonight I floored the pedal for a downshift, and didn't get it. Didn't get much of anything actually. The motor just lugged as the rpms slowly went up. Damn. :banghead:
I'm screwed. Tonight went out to the store. Something didn't feel right. There was a vibration coming from the drivetrain. Figured the motor was misfiring, that maybe I hit something while reinstalling the engine covers. Hooked up the scanner, nothing. Went to the store. ON the highway, hit the gas to try to accelerate lightly, just a heavy vibration. Hit the gas a little harder, got some acceleration, but alot of noise.
Got off the highway, stopped at a light. Light changed, gave her a little gas, got the vibration again, very little acceleration. Got there, picked up some crap, went home. Trying to get on the highway, same thing again. Lots of vibration and noise, not much acceleration. I did get home, after several episodes.
I'm thinking best case scenario is that the converter is shot. Worst case, tranny has internal damage. This sucks.
Mike you've been at this long enough to know that after the last symptoms you described, they were not going to get any better and that driving in that condition is only going to worsen your situation. Get her upon jacks/lift and get your driveline attended to.
I have an appointment with AJ on Monday. Was supposed to be just for a weatherstrip change, but I guess now it will be more. I'll call him in the morning and let him know.
$240 down the toilet for the flush.
