Turning radius fail

...... first, i must note that I have fat fingered this post twice, and completely deleted the thread, twice. Try #3....

My lifted laredo on 255-70-18's was awesome, it had an amazing turning radius. I could put other cars and SUV's to shame!

The SRT is..... well.... NOT. It's a SEMI! ESPECIALLY when trying to back into a spot! I've been spoiled by the laredo so much that i STILL find myself having to correct multiple times with the SRT.

What's the deal? Wider front tires? Shorter steering stops? Am I crazy?

Have the same rack/pinion and same turns to lock so besides wheels/tires and suspension nope haha. Id bet that its a bit stiffer and harder to turn from a stop due to the wheels/tires and drop so maybe its taking more effort on your part than the old power steering required thus throwing off "your" turn to eye coordination

nope, it definately has a completely different turn radius. From lock to lock, it doesnt turn as hard as the laredo did

Yeah, my WK with 32" tires whip into tight spots. I never turn the wheel at full lock though because that's when the pump strains and when the tires rub.

Only rubbed the tires once when my sister drove it.

I suppose it's all relative.....I generally drive 20-21' trucks so in comparison the SRT is great. My Reg Cab Tacoma will turn much nicer though.
