We are installing Headrest Dvd Players for the grandkids. So far, painless with the exception of the how to question..
How do you disconnect the airbag warning that is attached to the original headrest? The battery was disconnected to place new headrests in, the connection is just laying there. Now the light is on in the dash. (airbag warning). Please help, picking up the grandkids for spring break in 12 days.

Re: 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The front headrests have an active protection system and are not supposed to be replaced with something different. They pop forward under certain collision circumstances to limit the backward travel of one's head to reduce the effect of whiplash. It's likely that the warning, despite it saying "airbag", is because you have removed the active headrests and the vehicle is sensing they are missing parts of the collision protection system which works together. The recommendation for JGC for adding rear screens is that they attach to the OEM headrests, not replace them.

Re: 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

You may have also disabled all the airbags by removing the headrests and leaving open circuits. System is going to probably have to be reset by the dealer when you reinstall the headrests. Might have been cheaper to get them each tablets or Macbooks.
