2011 stereo installation setup with existing gear, some advice please

Hey jeep garage,
just joined the site after buying a certified used 2011 GC laredo with 6 speakers and the 130 radio. Before my "new" jeep, i was driving a 2002 ford explorer that had an aftermarket system in it that I installed a few years ago. The stock system in the jeep is terrible and I'm already sick of hearing it, so its gotta go. here's my dilemma...I have all the equipment from my explorer just laying around now and I'd love to put it to use. The system was by no means real high end, but it sounded pretty great and I'd like to save some money by reusing as much as I can. Heres what I have:

- Sony CDX-GT740UI single din head unit (3 preamp outputs) - Sony CDX-GT740UI (CDXGT740UI) In-Dash CD, MP3 Stereo w/ USB & AUX
- Pioneer GM-6400F (4 channel amp, 60wRMS x 4 @ 4ohms)
- Pioneer GM-D7400M mono amp
- Two sets of Pioneer TS-D6802R speakers (that are 6x8 so I'm pretty sure they're now useless to me)
- Alpine SWR-12D2 12" sub in an enclosed box
- Axxess ASWC steering wheel control

So anyway, I will be using the two pioneer amps to power the speakers in all four doors and the sub in the trunk. I have a few questions... first, what can-bus adaptor will allow me to reuse the ASWC? Ive seen the PAC CH4Y and the Axxess XSVI-6522-NAV. Any difference/preference here?

I still have to find some appropriate speakers for the doors... was thinking I'd like to stick with pioneer but am totally open to suggestions if anyone wants to throw any out (trying to keep it at or under $150/pair).

Also, and probably most importantly... has anyone here installed a single din head unit in their wk2? I will probably upgrade to a double din screen at some point but don't want to drop the cash on it just yet. I was wondering how it looked. the single din mounted in a bracket looked just fine in my Ex b/c the radio was already recessed from the sides by design, but I feel like the HU will stick out strangely on the Jeep. Any experience or thoughts? I'd mount it with this bracket: Metra 99-6513B Jeep Grand Cherokee Single DIN Dash Install Kit

thanks in advance for your help! I know i just wrote up a lot but I appreciate any responses

Greetings,

Welcome to the Jeep world and use your 2011 with happy trails.

I would double check with Metra on using their Axxess XSVI-6522-NAV in conduction with the ASWC. The JGC WK2 uses a hi-speed cam bus set up.

In terms of speakers, I would suggest to spend a little more for the fronts. Whether to get a 6x9 or 6.5 component set up is based upon the type of music you listen to you. Here is some past post for additional advise:

Which 6x9's?
6x9 or 6.5"?

For the rear speakers, a simple 6.5 coaxial would do you well. Keep it with the same manufacture as the fronts. This way you get a nice timbre (sound) balance.

When you switch to a double din down the road, the better head units have a built in DSP features in them that will improve your system.

Best for now.
