Re: 2012 overland owners, check your radios

My dealer is still trying to get to the bottom of the situation with corporate. Interestingly, i checked two other 2012 WK2 overlands on the lot, they all have the 11g available version so its an issue that is beyond just my car. If any of the people who have the 20g available radios could post a picture, i would appreciate it. Thank you.

Re: 2012 overland owners, check your radios

My RHR radio was supposed to come with a 40GB HDD. I have the same 20GB unit as all of you do, but I see the Jeep website is now advertising it as a 30GB HDD. Looks like they don't have a clue.

"Media Center 730N CD / DVD / MP3 / HDD / NAV Radio with 6.5-inch Touchscreen, GPS Navigation, 30GB hard drive (4,250 song capacity), SiriusXM Satellite Radio, SiriusXM Traffic, Uconnect™ Voice Command Handsfree Phone, and Audio Jack"

Re: 2012 overland owners, check your radios

The disk is partitioned. New units have 40GB total, with 20GB for software (including nav maps) and 20GB for music. On the older 30GB drives, the music partition is only 10GB.

Re: 2012 overland owners, check your radios

There is a world wide shortage of hard discs, see http://news.cnet.com/8301-13924_3-57...disk-shortage/ . That would explain why Chrysler have skimped but doesn't excuse it. My build sheet says 40GB. I'll certainly be checking it when it arrives. I wonder if they will offer a recall. Personally, I have no intention of stuffing around with gigabytes of songs while I'm driving. A couple of good CDs will do me.

Re: 2012 overland owners, check your radios

Well, Jeep finally swapped out my radio and put in the 40/20 (available) version. Thanks to those that posted pictures. Unsure if they swapped out the radios on the other vehicles on the lot that had the same issue. The exterior looks the same...

Re: 2012 overland owners, check your radios

I would think your new radio has the 2.120 Nav software. My real concern is with the memory loss issues. Please post back either on this thread or the other memory loss thread in a few weeks and let us know how the memory is holding. If it works then I'll probably ask them to replace mine. Thanks.
