Greetings,

Make sure you look into how the system multitasks with the Uconnect and visa versa as I said in the opening post.

For now, I will just wait and see how CarPlay develops in the aftermarket world.

Good luck and use it well.

Best for now.

Very nice. I'm not sure if you saw the news, but Google announced yesterday that their Chromecast dongle will soon support android mirroring. Not bad for $35. It might accomplish what you want to do and more.

Yes I was very excited about that. I was going to go with a chromecast at the get go but the chromecast needs to be on a wireless network to work. Then your phone needs to be on that same wifi network. So if I'm providing a hotspot from my phone I don't think I can be in the same network...Thus is impossible in a car...Now this may change with the newly released features.

We have 2 chromecast in the house right now! Love them...

Well CLStech, do I have good news for you then. Along with adding mirroring yesterday, they also announced that you no longer have to be on the same WiFi network to cast and can even do it with a phone's cell connection!

New Chromecast features: Android mirroring, cloud casting and more

EDIT: Chromecast still needs to be on a wifi network so you would have to have it tethered to a mifi or another phone.

As long as it's a different phone. I don't think you can cast from the same phone that is also hosting the Hotspot.

Understood, if that is the case I'm in the same predicament. Based upon the article my phone could be using its data connection to access/cast to a m on another network. It should be ok for it to be on my phone's hotspot since it would essentially be another network...
Time will tell, when there is a will, there is a way.

Nice product if it includes lockout bypass for the regular uconnect system as well...
Yes, it includes VIM (Video in Motion) capability, i.e. it unlocks the Uconnect system to function while the vehicle is moving.

The miracast adapter alone is not capable of interacting with the factory components in a similar way.

I already have the RAX jailbreak so I have that covered. This looks like a great product I just already have half the system installed...
