Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Map Update

The HERE website vacillates between the 18th and 20th. Even their servers can't make up their minds.

Not to be a stickler, but, what you paid good money for does work. I have no issues, other than voice commands, with anything this Nav is supposed to do. Perhaps your use has been different. No one with a 2014 or 2015 has paid for a map update yet, as they aren't available. So the problem is not one of getting what one paid for, but of expectations.

Makes you wonder what the update will deliver.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Map Update

I did suggest dose of salt, but as Chrysler has updated this to the 20th (according to someone) Let's check then.

Probably 1 more delay to keep on par.

I do love this image though. I call it today is yesterday... btw, someone at HO doesn't find it funny at all.

By HO do you mean Headquarters Office FCA? So they are taking notice of the 3 year old maps and the poor way it is being handled?

blah blah blah. semantics .

I'm not crazy jumping up and down, threatening lawsuits or something but as i said- 3 year old map data doesn't work. Maybe you are correct it's not "broken" but just not meeting expectations as the other chylser vehicle I had with nav got annual map updates- and that was when i had to order the disk from the dealer and put it in the trunk- not today where they could email me a file every quarter.

I realize you are enjoying being contrarian/stickler/whatever in this thread with your defense of FCA, insisting its all HERE's fault, and driving around with your stand alone GPS stuck to your windshield but the old as dirt maps are not cool- pick your choice of words how you want- it's annoying.

I literally just got from dropping my kids off at a new friends. 4 miles away. Took an extra 15 minutes to get there because the map database is totally wrong and doesn't reflect changes made in 2013.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and I certainly am not enjoying this. BTW, my NUVI is mounted on the dash, just above the UConnect screen using a Neutron S. On a windshield is soooo gauche

You should try a stand alone, you'd like it. Accurate, up to date, free updates and less expensive than one update for the UConnect nav.

How do you power the standalone? I just don't like the wire running down the center stack.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Map Update

This my 4th JGC and it will be my last if this is not resolved. Before that I would not be surprised that at least 4 or 5 mysterious electronic failures occur, caused by some mysterious malfunction. My wife's new town and country van is already cancelled (same nav unit) , and I have told at least 10 people with the same nav unit about this rip off and a request for their action. All of them are pissed. The only way I can be won back is a free update to at least 2014 vintage maps (the year I purchased my Jeep) ASAP, and that has come and gone. I asked about this at the time of purchase with assurance of customer support throughout my ownership. THIS IS CRAP! I feel like I just purchase 3 year old milk and I am telling my kids to buck up and drink it.Once you get over the smell all is well. FCA deal with this. Yes it is FCA responsibility, I don't go after every manufacturer that is subed out on my jeep for repairs, and there is a lot, just FCA. OK I will calm down now for the night.

The wire doesn't bother me, I've become used to it and it is not in the way of anything. I've mentioned in another post the advantages it has that I like, such as programming routes and trips on the computer in the house and having the ability to display topo and custom maps, such as the one below.

Greetings,

You mean somebody from HO is a member "here".

I hope he or she was not offended with my idea yesterday.

Best for now.
