2014 JGC "GPS Antenna Input"?

I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee Laredo-E, which I just bought in June. I have access to the Chrysler warranty system, so I was looking up info on my Jeep.

Under my list of sales codes, it lists "JLPP-GPS Antenna Input".

I have the UConnect 5.0 radio unit (no Nav), and was curious as to what this antenna input is. As usual, my dealer was clueless.

Any insight??

Re: 2014 JGC "GPS Antenna Input"?

im going to guess, that all the Jeeps have the same antenna... That input is for RA3/4 radios with NAV to plug into it.

Just a guess though

Re: 2014 JGC "GPS Antenna Input"?

Having purchased a 2014 SRT-8 antenna off ebay.

It might be quite possible like the previous poster said that all the antenna are the same, so all the antenna may have the GPS/Cellular connections but if your radio does not have the function it is not connected to anything. ( this is just a guess!!!)

The pre-face lifted (2011-2013) had two different antennas one for AM/FM function alone and one that Had AM/FM SDAR/GPS function.

Based on the connectors on the 2014 Sharkfin

The upgraded antenna had only two plugs:
The first is a blue connector for AM/FM
The Second is a Yellow connect that actually has to two separate connections for GPS and Cellular.

Maybe they just decided to wire your car like a base limited which has the option for the add-on GPS eventhough they don't actually give the laredo E this upgrade option.
