They probably got sick of everyone calling them asking why we are still riding around on maps over 2 years old.

Your probably right, I use my trusted Garmin NUVI for any trips. Not sure where HERE gets their updates from, but Jeep does owners a dis-service not using a company that can provide annual updates. If the head unit is a Garmin, strike an alliance with them and go with the Garmin service, or if it is someone else, do the same. Less complaints to Chrysler/Jeep, better service for the customer.

Re: 2014 NAV Version North America

I too have the 2012 map data on my Overland purchased in May 2013.
The update promised in October 2014 is obviously many months overdue. I learned in March 2015 that HERE provided an update "a long time ago" but that Chrysler for whatever reason has not released it for publication. I also overheard a tech at a dealership say something about a "megabyte issue." This raises a question about whether Chrysler will actually release an obsolete update or a really current one whenever they do resolve the technical issues. Whatever the case, this is inexcusable customer service for any car-maker, much less Jeep. The current version has much laughable and perversely confusing data for the fast-changing northern VA area. Having timely updates and fixes goes to the very purpose for having an expensive on-board system. Chrysler's apparent inability or unwillingness to assign resources to fix this quickly is frustrating. If they ever issue an update, they should be sufficiently embarrassed to make it free to WK2 owners as an apology.

This is more than likely.

Re: 2014 NAV Version North America

Overall, I really like my 2014 Summit. I am not even that phased by the 3 recalls, which have been handled very well by Jeep. The map issue, on the other hand, is extremely frustrating. This needs to be resolved now.

I think the more complaints they get on this the better, lets them know the volume of people dissatisfied with the map issue. so if you haven't done it yet a complaint to Jeep and Navteq to add your voice to the list would be a good thing.

Re: 2014 NAV Version North America

Does anyone know if the 2015's have increased memory? I have seen here and other sites that the issue may be due to memory capacity. Just guessing, but a lot of new stuff has come into being since 2012 and it all just might not fit onto the NAV systems we have. Not good. Would be nice to hear from someone that did some beta testing.
