The title says it all... I want to know what version your 2014 WK2 (or Durango for that matter) is running for Nav.

Navteq (Here Maps) tells me they release updates every 12-18 months. Well mine is over 18 months and I happen to know some have newer maps so I want to see them. Please note your version and date and post a pic if you can!

I am Q22012; Oct 26 2012 release.

I can't answer that, I am new to all this and trying to adjust. I have been all Garmin in the past with lifetime updates for my auto unit, usually I would have an update once a year around this time. Having nav data 2 years old is a real eye opener.

Interesting.....

Mine is a 2/14 build with the 20130328 version.

I went to the Navteq site and tried other manufacturers, specifically Hyundai/Kia, as we have a 2011 Kia Optima but with no Nav. We use a portable Garmin for both my bike and the Optima.

The Hyundai/Kia page shows a February 2014 update.........tried other manufacturers and there was a mix of you are current and updates. Weird!

Same October 26, 2012 release here.

Because the map set does not have a few interchanges around here correct (finished @ 2012), I complained to Chrysler and logged a case for when a new set is available... hopefully they will cover it since you would reasonably expect recent maps on a new car.

Also have a calendar reminder set up to call Navteq one a month ... same story ... no new one is available.

Everyone is running version # "Outdated". The current maps are almost 2 years old already. Had a Garmin window mount unit that got various updates in a single year for $99 unlimited updates. Why can't they do that with these units that don't require a DVD to be printed and mailed out? Their cost should be way down.

Received a reply from Navteq on my next release question. Looks like end of summer, "subject to change".

"Thank you for inquiring about HERE Maps. The latest update for your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee is scheduled to be released late summer 2014, subject to change."

I travel the Houston TX metro area daily, and there are MAJOR highways completed but still not recognized by GC nav system. I have clients that have been in new buildings for more than three years that still do not appear on our map version.

With some office time today, I called Here (what a stupid name, formerly Navteq) to inquire again, since it is officially SUMMER. The first two calls were the same old message: "Your 2014 Grand Cherokee has the most current software system, we update every 12-18 months, and an update should be coming out this summer”.

I talked to a supervisor named Brandon. He explained that Here provides only the map data to car manufacturers and other companies, such as MapQuest. He says that JEEP or its nav system designer, presumably Harmon, generates and updates the navigation software. Once the nave update is complete, JEEP sends it back to them for map data update and distribution; they “only sell it”. He says the updates are done by model year, but since 2014 was a “new system” and came out early while still in the 2013 model year; Chrysler must have decided to say with older data so as to reduce beta issues related with the new infotainment system. Based on this reasoning, the next update is expected for MY 2015, i.e. THIS SUMMER. I asked him why they could not simply offer updated map data on the software versions that tens of thousands of us are using right now. He said the file would have to come from Chrysler, and they are "probably working on new upgrades and services for 2015 MY.

I asked Brandon for a name of a higher level manager that I could write to about this issue; he reported he was not allowed to give names.

My next call was to JEEP Customer Service. I talked to a very courteous and friendly Suzy, who provided the standard JEEP line: I am sorry to hear you are having problems; I will log this for investigation. I engaged her a bit more and explained what Brandon told me. She did not think Brandon was correct because “they refer all questions about navigation to Navteq”. JEEP Customer Service agents don't seem to know how the navigation system is implemented or updated.

Either way, leaving 2012 maps in 2014 and 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokees is RIDICULOUS. All UConnect NAV users should call JEEP Customer Service, log a complaint, then call every week for update.

And don't get me started on VR....

I too have the 2012 map data on my Overland purchased in May 2013.
The update promised in October 2014 is obviously many months overdue. I learned in March 2015 that HERE provided an update "a long time ago" but that Chrysler for whatever reason has not released it for publication. I also overheard a tech at a dealership say something about a "megabyte issue." This raises a question about whether Chrysler will actually release an obsolete update or a really current one whenever they do resolve the technical issues. Whatever the case, this is inexcusable customer service for any car-maker, much less Jeep. The current version has much laughable and perversely confusing data for the fast-changing northern VA area. Having timely updates and fixes goes to the very purpose for having an expensive on-board system. Chrysler's apparent inability or unwillingness to assign resources to fix this quickly is frustrating. If they ever issue an update, they should be sufficiently embarrassed to make it free to WK2 owners as an apology.

Does anyone know if the 2015's have increased memory? I have seen here and other sites that the issue may be due to memory capacity. Just guessing, but a lot of new stuff has come into being since 2012 and it all just might not fit onto the NAV systems we have. Not good. Would be nice to hear from someone that did some beta testing.
