Re: 2014 sd card capacity?

Great.. so nothing else I need to do then with the SD card except copy from itunes and paste to the SD card. Will the album artwork come as well.. or just the music itself?

Thanks again.

Re: 2014 sd card capacity?

Thats correct. The album artwork will show as well. If you drag the folders, it will create the playlist from that folder. If you drag just the songs, it will lump all of of your songs together.

Re: 2014 sd card capacity?

Cool. By drag files, do you mean the files per artist, or the main file? So on my hard drive, I open the iTunes media folder, then there is a music folder. When I open the music folder, it has a folder for each artist. If I drag that music folder, will it still be each song, but seperated per artist to use for the browse function?

Sorry for the dumb questions, just not familiar with any of this.

Re: 2014 sd card capacity?

Drag each folder for each artist, cleaner load. Keeps you from having the music folder show up on the display when the SD card initially loads. You can drag the music folder, but you will have an extra folder to click on before getting to your music.

How about just dragging all your mp3s from your external straight to the awaiting sd card, that should work fine and shouldnt show any folders at all then just hit shuffle and you have a wide range of music.

One suggestion I would make is to lock your SD card before you plug it into your Jeep. That will keep it from being corrupted by any files on the radio. If you don't know, locking an SD card is done with the little switch on the card.

Re: 2014 sd card capacity?

Anyone else try this? I have an external HDD (USB 3.0 compatible) with all of my ripped music loaded on it, in Windows Media Lossless format. I have been able to connect it via the USB connection, and while it takes awhile to read because of the number of files I have (over 1500 albums and 13,000 songs), but the sound is top notch. Metadata album art, song title, etc., also display on screen. Might be just the answer to the SD card/no CD player issue.

So you bring your external harddrive with you in the car and just plug it into the USB slot and you're ready to roll??

Re: 2014 sd card capacity?

Yes. I have a 1 TB Western Digital Drive (USB 3.0). It shows the folders after reading the drive. Once you select artist or album it will display the album art and artist/song data. Songs were ripped in WMA lossless format.

I did not see windows media player on this stupid computer. So I opened control panel and looked under programs.....not listed.... so had to use search box to find the app which in turn opened the player and pin it to task bar. I hate W8 but I understand MSFT has a release on the 26th to cure haters hiccups. One I got the App opened and pinned I see what U mean. Thanks
