I have been trying to follow everyone's experience and it seems like 32GB is the max size. Have people been able to use apple format or were all files converted to mp3 first? Based on the posts, it sounds like apple format works - just was not entirely certain from following the posts.

Thanks

I wasn't sure if apple format worked so I converted all of mine to mp3 first. I'll try to load one today and test it.

Re: 2014 sd card capacity?

32 seems to be the consensus, althougt on some other forums people were sucesfull with 64 GB card after it was formated to FAT32 filesystem.

Thanks. 32 should be plenty large enough. I read on other forums there may be a song # limit that may come into play at 64 GB

Re: 2014 sd card capacity?

32 is enough for me so I played it safe and that's what I've got as well.

Re: 2014 sd card capacity?

I used a 32 because I had a bunch not being used.

And we mustn't forget ... you can use more than one.

Not sure if this has already been answered, but I had the same question so yesterday I put 75 .WMA songs on a SD Card and they all played fine - and sounded great.

If I copied an enitre CD folder from my Computers HD it kept that CD as a seperate folder on the screen, and if I just copied a single song it put that in the song section which was alphabetical. Then I had the ability to pick from folders which in this case were the complete CD's or just go to the complete song list and choose from all songs. When I did all songs it listed the individual songs I saved AND it took the songs from the folders and also listed them too. Hope this helps and made sense !!

Re: 2014 sd card capacity?

It would be nice if somebody would try 64GB SD card. My song library is about 24GB so I should be fine with 32GB SD card but would be nice if I could get 64GB card ...

I tested Apple lossless .m4a format today and it worked fine.

Thanks, just what I needed to know. I have my SD card all set now and just need the car to come in already. The longest wait so far is the wait from the train yard to the dealer. Everything else has seem quick and simple.

Does it matter what class the SD card is? I thought I saw someone's post say class 4-6 was suggested but that class 10 worked fine too? Maybe the reader limitation just make it so there is no benefit of a higher class?

Also it looks like various formats work. Ayn issues with combined formats on the same card (mp3, m4a, wma?).

Thanks
