Re: 2014 Turn off the Radio

Are there really people that drive around with NO SOUND at all?

What....??? Try leaving the radio on, and choose a radio station you enjoy listening to. That seems easier than turning the darn thing off every time, no?

You shouldn't have to accommodate your car. We can't let the machines control our actions.

In this specific case... Third party supplier would agree with others statement "why have a radio if you aren't going to listen to it". Third party supplier is wrong.

Just give in - the pain will go away. This is all part of Jeep's master plan.

My wife doesn't like having the radio on, I do. I always have to remember to turn the volume all the way down when I park so if she drives it the radio doesn't come on. Oh, then when I start, I have to wait for the media to load so I can turn shuffle back on and turn the volume back on.

It wouldn't be so annoying if we both had the same preference.

Re: 2014 Turn off the Radio

Powering down the JGC makes me feel like I'm in a cockpit:

Overhead garage door opener - Check
Exit height suspension - Check
Hvac fans off (old habit) - Check
Radio volume set to zero - Check
Parking brake - Check
Mirrors folded in - Check
Collect all personal items (phone, wallet, etc) - Check
Overhead rear hatch opener (when needed) - Check
Sit silently for a second or 2 because it always seems like I'm forgetting something - Check

I've gotten more than a few odd looks from passengers when I'm shut'n her down

Re: 2014 Turn off the Radio

You can turn off the screen but I'm not sure if that mutes the audio.

Re: 2014 Turn off the Radio

So, to make believe the radio is off you have to push 2 buttons. In my '55 Chevy I could do it with one.

Gotta Love Progress!

BTW - That am radio with the speaker in the dash sounded great.

I look at the center screen as multi-function and the radio is just one thing. To mute/off it - push the button. It still controls the hvac, etc. So it is just one button.
