Can you tell me more about what you mean with the freezing? Does the Radio Freeze when you put a Flash drive in??
Will, it is Friday night and you are a newlywed. I can happily wait until next week, or even after the diesels are delivered, to figure this out.

Flash drive loaded with music worked for about a week or so, and played fine. Then it seemed to stop. The name of the song and artist remained on the screen, but I couldn't restart, or go forward or backward. Turned shuffle off and on. Removed flash drive. Stopped and restarted the car. Same thing occurred. Either a couple of seconds of music would play, or nothing at all. Same thing when I tried attaching my iPod via USB. A song popped up and then immediately stopped playing. AM, FM and Sirius all work fine.

Unfortunately, I don't have anything that would plug in the auxiliary jack to test it. Have a new 8G SD card, but my Toshiba laptop requires an adapter (slot too large for card), and the only card reader I could find around here must be antiquated or junk or both, as the laptop wouldn't recognize it at all via any of its USB ports. Took the iPad out to test via Bluetooth, and when that failed I began to suspect it is Friday the 13th

Seems like pretty unusual behavior. I tested multiple devices connected and didn't see this. I would possibly try a factory reset but I recommend doing this the night before you plan on using the vehicle as it takes a while for everything to come back.

Heat and cool at the same time for 5-10 seconds... select factory reset and the radio will give you a slight delay.

Don't freak if it reboots with SRT on the screen or comes back with the wrong background. After it sits for a while it remembers what vehicle it is in.

BTW, wait until at least the normal screen comes back up after rebooting, then you can shut off the vehicle for the night.

You read my mind. Didn't want to confess that I wasn't sure how to initiate that factory reset. Searched this invaluable forum and found instructions you had provided to someone else. Took a deep breath and headed to the garage. FREAKED OUT a little when the SRT and different background came up. Hence, your accuracy in reading my mind. I did turn off the vehicle and come in after a moment or two....not sure what you mean by normal screen, but hope you mean the normal screen with wrong background. We will see what I discover in the morning, and I'll report back. Thx again.

Yep normal screen completely the wrong background. I am actually going to document this particular process a little bit better in the UConnect thread that I started because nobody really talks about what it does during the reset. I don't recommend everybody does it for just any reason but something like this its not a bad place to start. It takes the radio back to a state before it was even installed into the vehicle so it takes a little bit of time for it to assess which modules are in the vehicle that it needs to speak to.

Factory reset seems to have helped with funky USB port performance. Screen back to normal. I updated my setting preferences. USB port works with flash drive loaded with music. Flash drive works with music loaded on iPad. Will test iPod later. The question will be how long the port continues to function normally.....and hopefully it will indefinitely.

Took a few tries to get iPhone paired again via Bluetooth. Still can't get iPad to pair via Bluetooth, but my need to do that would be minimal at best. Next I will try to pair my husband's iPhone.

Willx, you are indispensable to this forum, especially with regard to UConnect issues. Thx much!
