Re: 2014 UConnect phone pairing issues?

Well, that's bullshit. Jeep needs to change their tune on this issue. Bluetooth is a standard and there has not been any radical changes to the Bluetooth standard that would cause this problem. My '14 Limited is due in any day now. I'm pairing my Razr Maxx HD and the wife's iPhone 5 in the parking lot and if they don't stay paired after multiple restarts and maybe letting is sit on the lot overnight I'm not taking delivery.

If it doesn't work your going to be letting it sit until the fix comes out. It's an issue and they are working on it, get over it. They aren't going to give you anything more cuz you or anyone else is pissed about it.. Do take it, enjoy it and hope you don't have the problem or the fix comes quickly. It isn't going to end the world.

Re: 2014 UConnect phone pairing issues?

If Jeep is going to fix it....FINE...but they need to come out and SAY that....publicly and TELL THEIR DEALERS. Put it in writing. I refuse to be put in a position where some Service Manager looks me in the face and tells me I need to buy a different brand cell phone or swap carriers to solve a Bluetooth problem on my $800 upgrade head unit when ANY $29 Bluetooth ear wart from K-Mart can pretty much pair and stay paired to ANY cell phone made in the past 10 years.

My wife loves her iPhone 5. She is a little reluctant to plop down $40K and drive off the lot with a unit with known problems and no projected fix date when her 3 year old $24K paid for Chevy pairs and does hands free with her iPhone just fine. I'm sure Jeep will be glad to build me another one a few months from now and there may even be some incentives by then to counteract the bad PR they will get if their radios keep crashing, rebooting, and failing to work with the most popular phones from the most popular carrier.

I will "get over it"......when Jeep gets over it. I know a lot of people say it's just a firmware issue and they will fix it. How long has it taken them to fix the 4WD FAIL in the sand issue? Or the iPhone streaming music issue? The promise of a fix is just so much vaporware until it's written and fixes all of the problems.

So this is an overwhelming problem for the majority it sounds like.

I am taking delivery of my '14 Overland tomorrow - I sure as hell hope I don't have this problem with my iPhone 5.

This sounds like it only affects iPhone 5's.

So those of us with Andriod, Wndows, or Blackberry devices won't have this problem.

I had to cancel the appt. Apparently the dealer did not receive the software update in time. There is a fix and they will call to set up another appt. I will keep you all posted.

Subscribed. My fiancee has been having this problem in her 2014 Laredo with Uconnect 5.0. No luck remembering her iPhone 4 running 6.0.1 or my Galaxy Nexus running 4.2.2. Glad there's a fix in the works, albeit 2 months late.

Re: 2014 UConnect phone pairing issues?

Picked up my '14 Limited with the 8.4AN today. So far it has survived about 25 restarts and maintained pairing with the wife's iPhone 5 and my Razr Maxx HD. I guess the next few days will tell the story.

I am having the problem with the some of Controls settings automatically changing back. For instance the setting for the door locks to only unlock the driver's door or all 4 doors. The default was all 4 doors and the wife wanted to try the driver's door only setting. That worked fine. But when I tried to set it back to all 4 doors the check mark would automatically move back to the driver's door only setting after about 5 seconds. It's got me afraid to experiment with other settings.

From what I've heard the bluetooth pairing is mainly an issue with the 5-inch screen. So my latest issue is...a couple of times when I have gotten in the car I have not been able to adjust the radio volume. This morning most recently, I had to mute and unmute before I changed the volume each time to get it to do anything. Such a pain in the ass. Also sometimes if I leave my ipod plugged in it doesn't recognize it when I start the car and I have to unplug it and plug it back into the USB to get it to work. At this point I am glad they ordered a new radio and are replacing it...could it really be that much worse?!?!

Re: 2014 UConnect phone pairing issues?

I've had my 14 Limited with 8.4AN for 3 days now and have had no issues with my iPhone 4s (iOS 6.1.3) staying paired.

Only issue I have is that the unit rebooted once while streaming music over bluetooth.

I just spoke with my dealer and they said that they received a software update yesterday. I am taking it in tomorrow for the update. I will let you all know how it goes.
