2015 Altitude with base speakers

I have the MY15 on my '15 Altitude and upgraded the base speakers to Kickers with a max capacity of 200w. The sound upgrade is unbelievable, but I find the lows drowning the highs when I crank it up as they are underpowered. With a very tight budget, is there a way I can hookup an amp and sub box to make things a bit louder. This mid-life crisis thing is hitting me hard :-).

BTW Crutchfield doesn't have anything listed for the '15 models other than the Wrangler.

Greetings,

Look into the Kicker IQ amps. It is a little pricey, but this would give you a whole new dimension with the base speaker system.

KICKER | IQ1000.5 Q-Class Amplifier

Instead of the 5 channel, you can also use a 4 channel and mono in stages so do not kill the piggy bank all at once.

Best for now.

I've been looking at their site recently, and I think they now have listings for the '15 GC.

Re: 2015 Altitude with base speakers

Greetings,

A fellow member just alerted me that Crutchfield now has another DSP/AMP combo that is extremely good:

Helix P SIX DSP 6-channel car amplifier with digital signal processing — 120 watts RMS x 6 at Crutchfield.com

Best for now.

Are you talking about the basic 6 speaker setup or the 9 speaker upgrade?

Since the GC runs it's climate controls, as well as a couple of other ESSENTIAL vehicle functions through the factory HU/touchscreen, you won't see any replacement stereos on any of the aftermarket sites. You will, however, see optional speakers, at least on the Crutchfield site.

Looking into doing something similar. Did you test the sound with the upgraded speakers but without the power pack? Also, how was the installation of the power pack? Did you cut into the factory harness?
