For about the 5th time.... They have. If you would call the 800 number on the recall paperwork, that they tell to call if you have an issue, I'm quite sure they would tell you what they told me..... If you simply asked them. Why would I lie? Why would they lie to me? Why couldn't both the Service Dept. Manager, or myself get the chip in? Why did his Flash Drive go right in and work perfectly on my vehicle, just like all the rest they've done the updates on?

If you're searching for information, that's the best way to find it. Not by going fishing on the Internet. Again, if you're that concerned about this, just simply call and ask. It's not as if this is some type of mass conspiracy involving me, the dealer, and Chrysler Jeep.

Just what is it you want explained to you, that I haven't explained in detail over the last umpteen posts? I told you what happened. You, for whatever reason, don't want to believe it. You seem to want to think there was some, "bigger picture" involved here. There isn't. This isn't a Moon shot. I got a cheap, molded, 5 cent plastic chip in the mail, that didn't fit into my USB port. That's it. That is all there is to this. I'm not understanding why you are finding this so difficult for you to absorb?

Help how? I told you it didn't fit. What difference does it make why or how it didn't? Too wide, too thick, too much flash on the parting line, or all of the above. It doesn't fit regardless, and there was nothing I, or he could do to make it fit. What else do you want or need to know, that is going to "help you" any better at this point? You're either going to get a good one, or a bad one like I did. What you have to do either way is pretty simple after the fact.

I'm not going to make a forensic science project out of this. I also told you in an above post the Service Dept. Manager who performed my update, returned all my paperwork, and took the bad chip after the update was completed. I also said the chip they sent me looked IDENTICAL to every one that was photographed and posted here. Why, assuming I even could, would I post more of the same? It was junk, so why would I want it back, and why would they, (Chrysler), want it out there? The problem is you're more interested in playing detective, than accepting the fact the chip was simply no good...... Which was the case.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee Radio Software Recall Update ?

What can I say. I like knowledge. Only people that have problems with detectives are those being investigated.
Please stop the insane reasoning that google, yahoo, and any number of extremely powerful search engines cannot find any instance of this on the net, except for this thread and i actually have to call an 800 number for any evidence (which i of course will) of a problem. This isnt 1970.

Nor is it the Kennedy assassination or 1947 Roswell. This was simply a case of a manufacturer shipping out a bad product that didn't work as it was supposed to. I wish I could give you more. But as I said that's all there is to it.

Got the chip in the mail last week. Installed today no problems. This was a blue one like in pics. Got mail today and had another one in the mail this one is purple. Looks like same recall though. R40

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee Radio Software Recall Update ?

I got the chip in the mail last week. I tried to put it in over the weekend and it didn't fit. Took my GC to the dealer this morning first thing for an oil change. Handed my chip to them and they too said I received the wrong one. They used a flash drive to install it. Didn't take too long at all.

The one on my vehicle seems like it's right in the middle. There is no way you could get anything into it.

I don't know if I should try sticking something in there and try to push it up, then try getting the chip in there. Or else just forget the whole thing?
Strange. Someone else reported something similar.

I also received the USB stick, looked to see which way in was supposed to be inserted (using a flashlight to see which side the contact were on in the USB Slot). I inserted and updated with no problem. I had my vehicle running during the update.

Re: 2015 Grand Cherokee Radio Software Recall Update ?

For a while my Nav unit had been acting buggy. Was meaning to have it checked but the recall notice came in before and I decided to go ahead with the manual update. It ended up crashing my unit and now it is stuck in a reset cycle. I think its been week 3 of no radio etc. Opened a case with jeep and will reach back out later this week If I don't hear back from the dealer that my radio replacement has been approved. Evidently the dealer said that this has occurred with a bunch of vehicles they have preformed the update on. Will keep ya'll updated.
