430 is 'stuck'

So..picked up my Laredo X with the 430 (no Nav, not sure what the actual full model # is) and, of course, everything worked fine last night when sales guy was showing me the features. This morning, the screen froze, couldn't adjust volume on radio or via steering wheel, couldn't turn it off, couldn't do anything. After I turned it off and then on again, I was able to adjust volume and change stations, but that's it. Just spent some time playing with it again, can't access the menu or media or the CD slot via the hard buttons, can't turn it off...volume works and I can change stations. Anyone have this happen? I know I most likely have to go back to the dealer but I keep hoping it'll fix itself somehow, lol.

Re: 430 is 'stuck'

my 08 limited did this sometimes, mine had nav and was a different radio but mine would freeze. nothing would work. I'd turn off the jeep and about an hour later it would start working again. one of the reasons i traded that ol girl in on the 11.

It's quite possible...plus I think I saw a scratch on my bumper already.

Well that would suck! Guess I'll have to take it in...

On a more serious note - could it be that Sirius radio hasn't been activated and affects everything? Just a wild guess - one forum member reported his Nav was not activated but he didn't describe symptoms similar to yours.

Re: 430 is 'stuck'

Actually, the Sirius worked fine...that's what I was listening to in the morning but then it all went haywire. Later on I was able to switch up to AM/FM but that's it...can't even get the CD player to flip, can't get to the main menus or anything...I'm really gonna be bummed if I end up in a loaner car this weekend!!!

Wait until Service Pack 1 for radio software is released in July 2011 - I have it from reliable source.

Re: 430 is 'stuck'

Well, it didn't work when I started up this morning but when I pulled into work I tried again and all was working fine. Grrrrr. Hopefully the little gremlins have left for good!!!
