Glad to hear pairing worked. You are at state of the art level, Frank. Here's why:

1. Texting will tantalize you by making you think it is working but then failing. That is, you can advance through the system and apparently send a voice command text but it never works. This is a hoped-for fix in the upcoming software update. Latest ETA is in Feb.

2. Phonebook "download" doesn't appear to be necessary. Now that you've got your phone paired you should be able to issue voice commands to dial contacts in your phonebook.

Was there anything in particular that seemed to fix the pairing problem? Did you have to clean it out and start over?

Re: 430 n

some phones will pair but not all of the voice recognition features will be available, depending on your phone's manufacturer. If you go to the Jeep website and go to the owner's section you can download a pdf of all of the capabilities of each nav system. some phone manufacturers use a different bluetooth version as opposed to others---especially older phones. I have a Nokia E71 and the bluetooth pairs properly, but I don't have features like accessing names/numbers from my phonebook, but I can still say any random number and the system will recognize it and dial it. And, I can also receive calls using the bluetooth system, but I can't text. I'm looking to get a new phone (Iphone 4 or BB) in the near future anyways so I'll be able to fully utilize the VR features.

Re: 430 n

for the pairing i had a problem until i entered a 4 digit code on the jeep touchscreen then my iphone found it and i had to enter it there. i am used to one of the devices having a preprogrammed code.
