430 RHB Maps Version Questions

I recently had my 2011-12 430 Rhb replaced under warranty a few months back. I'm a bit confused about all the versions and what's considered "latest/new update."
I googled and can't seem to find an answer. I've noticed new junction views on my nav that weren't present with my original 430. I think I may have an updated version of maps with the new 430, but some established main roads are not present and looks like I'm driving through a desert on the nav. On my recent trip to OBX, I noticed some of the speed limits on the nav display were incorrect in some stretches of the highway.
Here's what I have now and not sure if it's the latest or original version. I just ordered the $149 update (PageletCatalog - WelcomePage - Chrysler Group - 2014 North American Map for Uconnnect® 430N and 8.4N (RHB/RB5) -) and don't want to use it if I have the same version uploaded. Also concerned that after I load it, a newer version will pop out a month later.

Question: 1. Do I have the latest version currently installed? 2. Does anyone know when the next update will be coming out, it doesn't say what version I paid for. (Product U3942-0070-308)

Thanks!

No, you do not have the latest version installed. I just updated my 2012 GC with RHB a few weeks ago using an update disk purchased from the offical website. It took nearly 3 years for this update (my Sept 2012 build had 2011 maps) . I would not hold my breath for the next update. My RHB screens now say:

OEM CN North America NT 2014 [1] ALL
MELCO Software Version 3.00
Detailed Maps (c) 2013 Garmin. (c) 2013 NAVTEQ
Base Map WW Autoroute DEM Basemap NR 2.00

The instuctions/information said there were 1.5 million changes/updates/additions to points of interest. And I have noticed that practically all freeway interchanges now show up on junction view (very few on old version) and all of the newer roadways and changes in my area now show correctly. When you do the update, note that the instructions say it takes 2 hours and that your GC has to remain powered up the entire time or risk bricking your head unit. It took a little over 1.5 hours when I did mine, and I got in my GC, closed the door (if you cycle the power with the door open, it will shut off), and cycled the Start button to ACC every 20 minutes to make sure it remained powered. Your other option is to leave the GC running, which is just silly and wastes gas. You cannot listen to your radio while the unit is updating, so bring some reading material or something to do.

Oh, driving to Myrtle beach Friday and will using Waze anyway. I'll pop in the update on the 7+hr drive. :D
I've read on google about people bricking the units, but I thought it was bc of bootleg downloads. That's why I paid for the original in hopes of that not happening.
Do I need to register the disc at Garmin to get a code? I paid for overnight shipping so it'll be here tomorrow.

Yes, there is a bit of work you have to do to register the disk once you receive it. Just follow the instructions on the insert card that comes with the disk. You will need to set up an account and log in from a computer. Garmin does not trust anybody and wants to make sure you have a legit disk. You should be able to do the installation during your trip, but you will not be able to use any radio or nav functions during the install. When complete, you will get a "successfully installed" message on your screen. Best luck.
