430 to 430n

I have searched and know it's possible, but when upgrading from a 430 to a 430N, is it a direct swap or does it require additional wiring oustide of "plug and play"? I'm assuming an antenna for the GPS is required and is mounted in the dash somewhere or not?

I'm hoping that I could pull the 430 and plug the 430N in with no other necessary work.

Re: 430 to 430n

It is a direct swap. The GPS antenna is part of the combo satellite/radio antenna on the roof in most models. If your vehicle doesn't have the combo antenna already installed, you will have to add a GPS antenna and tuck it under the dash somewhere. The 430s do not have the Uconnect module built in, that is in a separate box. The same module is used for both the 430 and 430N, so if your vehicle is equipped with UConnect, that is also plug and play. Just saying that if you don't have the UConnect module, you won't be getting those functions with a radio swap.
