430n A-Z option

I have the 430n and a classic iPod 120 gig. When I click on artist then the A-Z option, some of the letters are blacked out. I have artists on the iPod representing the whole alphabet. So why the blacked out letters? Any help is appreciated.

Re: 430n A-Z option

so finally figured it out... with the ipod classic you cannot use the sort artist or sort album artist field... when I left those fields blank, all letters were populated in the a-z feature

Re: 430n A-Z option

Yes its an option in itunes. You have to right click on the song or if its a group of songs, highlight them then right click and select info. If you are using a mac, press control then click the song. From there you will see different tabs. Look for sort album artist, sort album, sort composer fields and make sure its blank.
