If you have the 430n then you will never get the traffic to work. It is not included with the 430n.

That did it. It took about 3 minutes to come up, which is 2 minutes longer than I waited before. Thanks!

Re: 430N and Sirius Travel Link

I tried this install update today. Can't say I am happy about the way that went. For a moment I thought disaster had struck.

Tried the install per the instructions. Jeep powered own, radio off, inserted the disk and in 20 seconds of so the message to update the radio software appeared. That process took about 10 minutes or so. Then according to the instructions, the hard drive base files would be updated, this would be the travel link files being inserted. The instructions stated that portion would start in about 2 minutes. Well, I waited 10+ and nothing happened. Ejected the disk, reinserted the disk, waited 10 more minutes and nothing. Tried to power the radio, nothing. Getting pissed now, wondering how stupid I was for downloading an update off the net like that.

Powered the Jeep off for 5 minutes, repowered it and inserted the disk. In about 20 seconds or so the message to update the baseline HDD files appeared. That process took around 3 minutes and then the NAV update message appeared. That took about another 2-3 minutes. The radio rebooted and I ejected the disk.

Initially the SAT radio had no channel information and when it did start coming in I had only the message to contact Sirius to subscribe. A couple of minutes later that went away and I had the same Sirius access I had before on the radio screens. I hit the Menu button and the Travel Link button was there. I had access to Weather, Fuel Prices, Movies, Skiing, saw a Sports button but that was grayed out.

I was pretty disappointed in the Weather. It only had current and forecast information. I didn't see any weather maps or radar imagery. I can hear the current and forecast weather on any station, the radar maps and such is the difference maker and I didn't see that being available. Pretty annoyed at that.

Anyone else with the 430N seeing the Weather Maps and Radar on their Travel Link.

No, I have not found any radar or weather maps.

Re: 430N and Sirius Travel Link

There are currently 2 threads going in regarding the 430N. Here's what I posted in that other thread: Sirius Travel Link 430N

Quote:
In the Sirius description of Travel Link they note, "Not all features are available with all devices" and in the manual for the 430N these are the features listed:

Weather
• View detailed current conditions at your current location.
• Check extended 12–hour and 5–day forecasts.
• Store a favorite location for quick access to weather conditions and forecasts.

Based on the screen resolution I'm betting the image was not very clear so they decided to not offer that feature. It sucks but at least they never pretended to offer it like they did the original service.
Bottom line, radar maps were never part of the Travel Link on the 430N.

Re: 430N and Sirius Travel Link

Well Chrysler Co. is at it again.....NO additional year for me, even though my Overland fall within the time frame, even though they promised on the phone a number of times, they are reneging on their promise. Papy from Chrysler Co called to tell me I was not within the recall parameters. F&@k them! ! ! ! Why do some within that time get the additional year and others not.......he could not or would not tell me why. Another ChryCo. F#%K UP to an otherwise great vehicle.
ps. just got the mail in and received another disk for Sirius TL......ChryCo. is really screwed up.

Send it to me. I couldn't even get Chrysler to send me one even though my Sirius account shows Travel Link is active. Took delivery 2-14-11 (build date 12-10-10). And they had the nerve to send me a questionnaire about how to build/design future vehicles and I quote from my e-mail..."Chrysler is committed to providing you with a high quality vehicle that exceeds your expectations now, and in the future. Your ideas are critical to our continued commitment to excellence" Here's a suggestion....TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!!!!
