With all due respect, I don't think there's any need to bump this thread. With so many interested 430n owners here, I'm sure that news will be posted the instant it is available!

A review of this and related threads will reveal the following:

Many of us have reported on our phone calls received from Chrysler re the 430n update. It will be sent out to owners on a disk, according to Chrysler. They also told me that my Travel Link subscription would begin once that service was activated on my upgraded 430n firmware. Then, a separate comment here suggested that the 430n hardware may not be compatible with TL after all.

Granted that's a fair amount of ambiguity, Danco, but I think it pretty much captures the current status on this topic.

Re: 430N and Sirius Travel Link

i got an overland with 430n in january. it has the basic sirius free subscription but does not show the promised travel link trial subscription. if i understand this thread right, jeep will be sending out an update for the garmin system that will probably activate the travel link trial too? anyone know when?

i like the garmin but what is this "lockpick"? i'd like to be able for my passenger to enter addresses in it while i'm driving.

thx
jeff

LockPick is a small electronic device that goes between your radio and it's power connection. Really simple to install once you remove the radio dash panel. Removing it is not hard just a bit hard on the nerves.

For Travel Link I think we are just going to have to wait until Chrysler Jeep comes out with software update. As far as I know no one has any idea when this will be.

There were reports for the end of January then the end of February and now the end of March.

In addition to waiting on Jeep you could bookmark this site and check there regularly.

Re: 430N and Sirius Travel Link

I just got my GC Overland at the end of February and the sales girl kept telling me that the basic overland didnt come with nav. and that I would have to pay more for the 730N, but I knew it came with the 430N, and actually educated her on the features. Funny...I was on the jeep web site yesterday and found out about the travel link for the 430N on there (I never saw anything on it before....hmm). It doesnt show up on mine like the quick user guide tells you to find it so hopefully they have an update and I will get it soon! Does anyone have any news since the last post on here?

No word yet, Moaks but it'll be all over this board when it hits. The 430n patch is the Purple Unicorn of the WK2 forum. Lots of us are monitoring the situation.

Just spoke to chrysler today... she said april 1 they are sending out the upgrade...

not sure if its going to us or dealership... hopefully its over the sat with the activation.... what a headache!!!!

i have been back and forth with the dealeship and sirius for weeks now!!!

dealership kept telling me the 430n didnt come with this feature as it wasnt listed on the window sticker or "bible" as they call it...

i told them that my wipers blades weren't listed... showed them my owners manual disk chryslers website they basicly told me to pound sand..

i just cant believe i was the first person to complain to the dealership!!

im sure there are many 430n's out there!!!!

good luck to all!!!
