Re: 430N Ipod Cable

Will having the factory iPod cable do anything different than using the USB slot in the center console?

Re: 430N Ipod Cable

I don't think the factory cable will work with the 430/430N but I could be wrong.

Here's a link to a write up I did that includes pictures.

Re: 430N Ipod Cable

This brings up an interesting thought. I wonder if one of the iPod integration harnesses can be used INSTEAD of or in ADDITION to the USB connection in the center console to solve the connection problems that many of us have been having with iPod/iPhone.

@ S2square1, I don't think the ipod cable connects to the back of the 430/430N but it could possible connect to the uConnect module. I'm not sure where it is located but the uConnect installation pdf which I saw on the link that you provided might show the location of the module. If you get this to work, let us know. I think I might give it a shot as well. Of course, the probs that we are having could be software related which means a change of cables would not work anyway.

Re: 430N Ipod Cable

Was there some reason a standard USB to iPod cable for the armrest USB port was unacceptable?

I think what happened here is the dealer sold the OP a cable they thought he needed because they don't have a clue about what actually is installed in the truck!

That or the OP bought one from someplace else based on information about previous model years.

I hope it's returnable, wherever he got it from.

Re: 430N Ipod Cable

Guys, I found this after digging awhile last night, I might be S.O.L on my purchase of the cable unless I buy the rest of the kit.

If I'm not mistaken, that kit is for older radios, not the 430. The 430 comes with a uConnect module in the GC. All you have to do is plug in your iPod to the USB connection in the center console using a regular iPod cable as other posters have pointed out.

Re: 430N Ipod Cable

Yeah, that's for older radios. Sorry, but you bought a useless cable.

Re: 430N Ipod Cable

Is the 430N RHB radio compatible with the 3rd generation Apple iPod Touch through the USB port in the center console?
