Yes you can. The music will stop when a call is initiated or comes in when connected to either the aux in, center console USB jack, or streaming via BT. As others have stated, they both stream music via BT but it will either play too fast and/or break up if the phone screen is on/unlocked. Also, many usually have issues with the USB connectivity...it will usually error out. Some have reported some varying degrees of success with work arounds but that is probably the exception rather than the rule.

That is the fine print. Inhale the 430N and I like it alot using it with my iPod classic. I just leave it in there and the payback for purchasing another device is that I have my entire music library available to me. It might be overkill for some but after a few months, the additional outlay of cash for the iPod was nothing considering the trouble free access to my music library.

With my 430n RHB the USB port does not work with the iphone 4 (4.3.3) and when you stream you can't use the phone since once you unlock it the music gets all scrambled. Best solutions is to simply use another ipod or even a usb stick for all your music. That works perfectly.

Re: 430n or 730n ?? new to jeep

Got the jeep this evening.

started a new thread (will post pics there).

goodbye bmw, welcome jeep! good deal ?

Iphone over bluetooth works perfectly. For music - i did get it to work over the usb, but after turning the car on and off a few times it just quit working right. SO.. i tried the aux in jack (i have a car charging adapter that has stereo out).

Interestingly enough, not only does it work great, it sounds a lot better than the USB connection. I assume the dock connector has a better DAC than the only they give you with the head unit. I wasnt surprised actually. Anyway, this is a perfectly acceptable workaround for me. I have the same solution in the AUDI, and in my now traded-in BMW (both of which did not have bluetooth streaming).

When you say it works perfectly, do you see the music information on the screen while streaming?

I think from what ive read ill be fine witha 430n RHR ?? no idea what that means. i dont need bluetooth streaming, just the basic phone call functionality to work.
Welcome to the Forum!!! You will find a lot of useful information on pretty much anything you want to know!!!

Agree that it sounds good, but it's annoying when you turn on your phone in the car or want to select music. I think Apple has to fix this, but I don't see it being a priority to them.

The dock connector is just passive cabling. The iPhone presents analog audio on two of the pins in the connector, so you're using the same DAC as when you plug in headphones.

It's Chrysler that has to fix this. The iPod USB control works fine with lots of other gear, including a couple of stereos in my house. Apple is the big dog here; everybody else has to line up and follow them when they change their interface.

I don't disagree, but something on the iphone has to be changed, so ultimately Apple has to update the software on their phone. I don't see them being that motivated to do that, so I thing Chrysler is at their mercy.

I have the iphone 4 and the 730. I upgraded to Ios5 last week and can now see the song information on the screen via bluetooth. Hopefully you should get it too.

That's great, good know thanks. Your lucky you were able to get ios5 early. Does it still only work with the phone in the locked position?
