430N Problems, iPod drivng wife crazy

I have a May 2011 build, and it has the current updates, but every time my wife starts it, it resets her iPod to the first song on the entire iPod, not start from where it left off.

This radio has so many bugs with it regarding iPod, it's really causing her grief.

Anyone else experiencing similar issues?

On the iPod, run the music player app instead of leaving it on the main screen. That makes it behave for me.

Can you explain what you mean? This is an iPod, connected via a usb iPod cable in the console, and not an iPhone (just to clarify).

Thank you for your response.

Which one? There are dozens of models of iPod.

On my iPod touch 3G, when I turn it on I see the main screen. There's an icon for each app. If I touch one of the icons, it runs that app.

To play music, I touch the button for the "Music" app. The main screen goes away and I see a screen related to playing music.

I find that I have to start the "Music" app for my iPod to behave correctly with the 430N.

Re: 430N Problems, iPod drivng wife crazy

I see. I am using an iPod (nano) not an iTouch, so it's not really an app but the main component of the device (default).

I am trying a different one, but also trying to put it into the music list as opposed to the main menu.

Thanks again.

Re: 430N Problems, iPod drivng wife crazy

I found the latest UCONNECT TSB update helped with my iPod Classic. Leaving the iPod plugged in also helps minimize the reset feature where it wants to start with the first song.

I find that connecting the iPod while the vehicle is off, starting the vehicle and waiting
a minute before turning the radio on almost always gets me back to the last playlist.

Re: 430N Problems, iPod drivng wife crazy

This thread discusses it:

http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php?t=26052

The update file is located here:

http://www.challengertalk.com/forums...605#post861605

The file needs to be copied to a blank USB drive and then you plug it into the
USB port in the armrest, not the one on the radio. Press the UCONNECT phone
button on the radio for 15 seconds and a dispaly should come up stating that the
upgrade is starting. The discussion at challengertalk indicates it should take
15 minutes, mine took almost 18. I also did it with the engine running.

Thanks brother. Updated mine via your instructions a few weeks back, worked like a charm.

Re: 430N Problems, iPod drivng wife crazy

Hi, 2015 GC overland my Apple shuffle I have connected to USB port
have no problems with it. My question to everyone is can I leave it plugged in all the time especially when the vehicle is off. When off, light on shuffle is on , like it is charging , will this hurt or drain the car battery ? I unplug the shuffle from the 3.5mm jack and leave USB plugged in all the time for now, but a hassle to do for short drives. Music better thru usb then bt. Thanks
