430N RHB iPhone 4S BTSA Problems Still Help!

Like many of you I have the iPhone 4 and 4S iOS 5+ and was very excited to have the Bluetooth streaming audio feature advertised by Jeep on the 430 N. and like many of you I have been supremely disappointed in the performance / quality of the feature. I have applied what I think are the most recent updates via USB and cd for the HFM and radio with some improvement ( no more chipmunks). I also asked the dealer to look into my issue which is specifically over BTSA the highs of any audio is garbled terribly base and mids come through fairly clear. The dealer tech stated his phone (non iphone) worked fine so it must be my phone (which we know factors in based on the tech info in other threads here). Obviously that is the wrong answer though since i am the customer and it only matters if my phone works not the tech's phone. Otherwise calls work well and USB cable for iPod works well.

Basically this community has been so helpful I wanted to see if it had any advice for my next action. Can someone post here the latest unconnect.upd from the latest tsb and the latest radio update link?

Thanks everyone!

You don't say what model year you have. If it's 2011, look here.

Sorry about that I have the 2011. I have done that update with no luck in improving the bad garbled highs of the BTSA. Neither the iPhone 4 or 4s seem to work well. Thanks for posting a reply!!! I am dropping by the dealer on Wednesday and will be pushing for a fix or replacement.

Wanted to post a follow up on this for everyone. I have been talking with a UConnect rep about a fix after reaching them via email and the unconnected website. Anyways the basics of the issue is that their engineers know of the issue are working on a fix specifically related to iOS 6 release and trying to get everything working properly. I can tell you because i have iOS 6 beta installed now ( dev license) and althought the sound for BTSA is better then pre iOS 6 it is not the way it should be. So once they finish the iOS 6 specific focused fix for the UConnect on the 2011 JGC 430n RHB config I will let everyone know especially how to get the update ASAP.

It's not just iPhones, the a2dp quality on my Android has the same exact symptoms, with the newest updates. But, the phone works great with other bluetooth units. It's something with the uConnect itself, it's introducing distortion in the vocal range. It makes listening to Pandora rock stations terrible.

Please see the reply above from nrtst24, go to the link he supplied and perform that update. You're correct that many phones are having this sound quality issue. The Uconnect had a lower Bitpool rate that was ppreviously supported by the phone makers. Then they started to raise their Bitpool rate to where it wasn't in a supportd range. This update raises the Uconnect Bitpool rate as high as it can go, which is much higher than the phones are currently and can go.

"The used update archive is not compatible with this unit". Unit is an 'RHB' 430N running 50.00.07, mfg date is 5-11.

Did the HS update, got the message above after two minutes of beeping. The TSB 08-019-12 was already performed, made no improvement to streaming bluetooth audio quality, hence I am attempting to apply this update.

Please advise!!!!

Thanks!

Nevermind, I resolved this on my own by taking the vehicle back to the dealer a second time.
