Re: 430N (RHB) to 730N (RHR) conversion question

Couldn't live without a vehicle anymore so went and bought the Jeep that has the 430N. They are still on the hook for putting in the 730N when it comes in. Weirdest thing is that the Bluetooth Streaming Audio works now with my iPhone with the 430N. All the other times I've tried it it's been choppy chipmunk music unless the screen of my iPhone was turned off (like others have mentioned in other threads).

What version software does your 430N have? (On the main NAV screen, touch Settings then touch About.)

Re: 430N (RHB) to 730N (RHR) conversion question

Bummer, I thought you might have newer application code with the promised bug fix. But you have the old application code without Sirius Travel Link. The current code is version 23.04.41. You can upgrade to that with an update CD, as described here.

(I can't check the other version numbers just now; I bicycled to work today.)

Re: 430N (RHB) to 730N (RHR) conversion question

Got my Jeep back today from the dealership. The conversion from 430N -> 730N is 98% working! Voice commands, calling, etc. are all working.

The only thing that doesn't work is when I plug my iPhone into the USB port in the center console. My music turns into chipmunks, quiet, and choppy. Is this what the 68068278AA mini USB cord would have been for ... and they just forgot to install it?

Re: 430N (RHB) to 730N (RHR) conversion question

Hello all,

I am not a Jeep owner but I have just completed a similar conversion on a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. Well, almost completed. I installed the RHR and the microphone conversion cable and everything works great. My problem is that the USB port (in the RAM it is in the glove box) is not connected. I ordered the same USB jumper cable that the OP quoted in his post but the problem is that it is a male to male connector and I need a male to female connector. When you unplug the USB from the factory Uconnect it is a male end and you need a male end for the back of the RHR. So I am in need of a male to female USB jumper cable.

The reason I posted is that if you are getting a connection between your phone and the USB then they did connect the USB jumper cable. The "chipmunks" music you are hearing could be a incompatibility problem between your iphone and the RHR. I was having the same issue with my RHB unit. I could eliminate the problem if my iphone was locked when I played music through the RHB, for some reason when the iphone was on any other screen I had the "chipmunks" music. Good luck.

Re: 430N (RHB) to 730N (RHR) conversion question

The Chipmunks are very underrated and not getting the love they deserve. Drive around with the windows down and blast those tunes!

My friend had a Chipmunks CD and he would do this.

Also, hope you get it working.

The factory installations do that too. It's a software problem, not a wiring error.

That usb jumper cable is the right one for your Ram.It is longer than the one that comes from the factory. You have to disconnect it at the usb port and it replaces what is already there. It doesn't extend the cable at the HFM,it replaces it.

Re: 430N (RHB) to 730N (RHR) conversion question

I'll have to visit a dealer and try it out on a factory-installed 730N and see if it's the same just like you say Andrew. It seems like I've seen people say that you get an iPod/iPhone port on the Lock Pick aftermarket attachment. I wonder if I ought to just go that route.

If I connect my iPhone/iPod to the USB port right on the bottom front right of the radio, it works perfectly ... just not as clean and tucked away like the center console would be. For what it's worth, before I had the 430N changed over to the 730N, the center console USB port worked perfectly as well.

Congratulations! I think you may be the first. Would it be possible to get the dealer name and the name of the tech that performed the swap? The tech at my dealer would like to contact him to find out how he performed his "magic".

PM sent with the name of the dealer. If you end up figuring it all out, please post what your findings our. I've pushed my luck with them already or I would pry more myself.
