430N - volume of nav audio prompts?

I have the 430N navigation and it seems like the voice is SCREAMING at me when she tells me to turn or whatever other audio prompt she gives.

I have my radio turned down trying to figure out where the hell I am and where I need to go and navigation lady is SCREAMING. How do you adjust the volume of the navigation audio prompts?

Thanks. See ya.

Re: 430N - volume of nav audio prompts?

There are two options that I'm aware of
1) While shes screaming simply use the volume control and turn it down which it'll say "NAV VOLUME"
2) Go into settings and change NAV VOLUME

Thanks... I'll try #1 on the way home.

For #2... I'm likely blind, but I couldn't find a NAV VOLUME option in the settings.

Re: 430N - volume of nav audio prompts?

#1 works: turn down the volume WHILE the NAV voice is speaking. It is independent of the normal radio volume.

Re: 430N - volume of nav audio prompts?

bEEpX11 - #1 worked like a charm. As soon as she started talking I looked and saw the volume was listed as NAV VOL and was able to turn her down. Thanks!

Re: 430N - volume of nav audio prompts?

Hey guys, you know this thread can turn and take a life of it's own. I started reading this and thought of an old image that you've probably all seen before but. To all female posters I apologies in advance but I'm sure you'll see the comic value of this in relation to the first post to this thread!

Re: 430N - volume of nav audio prompts?

You may have figured it out but I didn't see it mentioned.. you can also use the steering wheel volume adjust when the nav talks.
